IntroductionWorkplace violence is a crucial problem experienced by health workers who serve at the emergency service. The identification of emergency nurses’ workplace experiences is of importance to the prevention of violence and the development of solutions.PurposeThis study was performed to identify the workplace violence experiences of the nurses working for the pediatric emergency units.MethodA total of 20 nurses who experienced violence at the emergency service participated in the study that was conducted as qualitative research. The data were collected with the semi-structured interview form and were evaluated by using thematic analysis.ResultsFive themes, namely, “the characteristics of violence”, “the causes of violence”, “the approach during/after the violence”, “the consequences of the violence for the person”, and the “consequences of the violence for the profession”, were identified. Nurses stated that they often experienced verbal violence due to patient relatives’ unmet expectations, the failure of patient relatives to understand treatments and practices, and the heavy workload, they endeavored to eliminate violence by trying to communicate with perpetrators of the violence, calling the security staff, and reporting the violence to their managers, and they were individually and professionally affected by the violence.ConclusionNurses are negatively affected by workplace violence. Pediatric emergency nurses should be supported with training programs and policies to be developed for the prevention and solution of violence. 相似文献

目的 探讨精神科护士夜班经历创伤事件后的成长体验,以期为护士不同阶段心理情况进行针对性干预和指导,并为护士职业生涯早期心理建设提供方向。方法 采用扎根理论的研究方法,2020年3月—7月对广东省某三级甲等医院12名夜班经历创伤事件的精神科护士进行深度访谈,采用Strauss和Corbin扎根理论分析资料,分为开放式登录、轴心式登录和选择式登录3个阶段,持续比较分析资料。结果 发现精神科护士夜班经历创伤事件后经历了应激期、调适期、成长期3个不同阶段。结论 精神科护士夜班经历创伤事件后的成长为动态过程,管理者或干预者可根据不同阶段进行针对性干预和指导,并在护士早期培训中促使其提前做好相关知识、技能的储备和必备心理素质的塑造。 相似文献

目的:了解实习护生情绪智力、临床实习环境与病人安全感知能力现状并探讨三者关系。方法:采用情绪智力量表、临床实习环境量表和卫生职业教育病人安全感知量表对492名实习护生进行调查。结果:实习护生情绪智力总分为(123.81±18.69)分,临床实习环境总分为(119.48±22.16)分,病人安全感知能力总分为(67.16±12.06)分,情绪智力、临床实习环境与病人安全感知能力呈正相关(r值分别为0.723和0.720,P<0.01);情绪智力在临床实习环境和病人安全感知能力间起部分中介效应,中介效应估计值为0.286(28.6%)。结论:学校要举办人文课程活动以培养情绪智力;医院应制订计划增加学习机会,选拔给予护生充分支持的带教老师,改善临床实习环境。 相似文献

The discussion paper will focus on continuity of care relating to previous NZ research, specifically to transitioning complex preterm infants from NICU to home based on parent experiences, and on the practice developments that have occurred, to ensure optimal health outcomes. Previous NZ research discovered parent desire a consistent service delivery for the entire transition journey from NICU and at home.An informative and comprehensive opportunity has occurred for reflective professional practice, evaluation, development and implementation which have transpired in positive change through innovative practice developments and support change implementation in Wellington, NZ. This has resulted in the articulation of a model of care that has both embraced and integrated parental desires for a continuity of care process for complex preterm infants. 目的 调查安徽省4所综合医院临床护士的营养护理能力,并分析其影响因素,为提高临床护士营养护理能力提供理论依据。方法 采用便利抽样法,2021年1月—2月应用一般资料问卷、临床护士营养护理能力量表对安徽省北部、中部、南部4所综合性医院的863名临床护士进行横断面调查。通过多元线性逐步回归分析临床护士营养护理能力的影响因素。结果 共回收有效问卷762份,临床护士营养护理能力总分为(235.16±44.02)分,条目得分为(3.73±0.70)分,其中营养专业知识维度和临床营养评估能力维度得分较低。多元线性逐步回归分析结果显示,工作年限、科室、定期接受营养护理督查、在校学习营养课、参加营养学习班、定期参加营养业务学习是临床护士营养护理能力的影响因素(P<0.05)。 结论 临床护士营养护理能力有待提高,护理管理者应重视对临床护士进行营养相关教育及培训,强化营养专业知识和临床营养评估能力,完善定期检查与考核机制,以提高临床护士的营养护理能力。 相似文献

Discrimination towards individuals with disabilities is problematic within nursing. There have been calls to increase diversity in nursing and this includes embracing nurses with disabilities. Increasing diversity in nursing requires increasing diversity among nursing students; in this way, nurse educators are gatekeepers to the profession. Clinical education is a crucial element of nursing education, yet there have been very few studies related to the clinical education of nursing students with disabilities. There have been no studies of attitudes of acute care nurse preceptors toward students with disabilities in the United States. This gap is important as the majority of clinical experiences occur in the acute care environment. Utilizing a focused ethnography, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 20 acute care nurses with at least two years’ experience precepting students. While positive feelings about nursing students with disabilities were shared, thoughts and behavioral intentions remained negative. Six themes emerged: safety, barriers, otherness, communicating to meet needs, disclosure, and student versus colleague. Attitudinal barriers are the primary barriers faced by individuals with disabilities in becoming and practicing as nurses.
