INFANTILE MYOFIBROMATOSIS WITH HEMANGIOPERICYTOMA-LIKE FEATURES OF THE TONGUE: A Case Study Including Ultrastructure

We report a case of an infantile myofibromatosis with hemangiopericytoma-like features arising in the tongue of a 5-month-old female infant. Many authors now classify neoplasms as infantile myofibromatosis that were previously called infantile hemangiopericytoma. The ultrastructural features of our tumor illustrate its biphasic nature and provide a possible explanation for its histogenesis. Infantile myofibromatosis, including those diagnosed as infantile hemangiopericytomas, rarely arise in any intraoral location. Despite the generally good prognosis associated with these neoplasms, complete surgical excision is recommended to avoid recurrences.     

脑出血患者血肿周围组织病理及超微结构变化的动态观察

目的观察脑出血患者血肿周围组织普通病理及超微结构的动态变化。方法对30例脑出血患者采取非功能区人颅直视手术，清除血肿前于血肿旁约1cm处取少许脑组织作为实验组，按发病到手术的时间分为6h以内组6例，6～12h组7例，12～24h组5例，24～48h组3例，48～72h组3例，3～4d组3例，5d组2例，8d组1例。从12h以内组中的7例患者于手术入颅路径上远离血肿处取少许脑组织作为对照组。应用光镜_硐J电镜观察脑组织普通病理及超微结构的动态变化。结果对照组脑组织形态和结构基本正常。实验组6h以内脑组织有轻微损伤。6h以后脑组织损伤逐渐加重。24～48h损伤达高峰，光镜显示脑细胞和纤维水肿明显，细胞形态不完整，核固缩，炎性细胞侵润明显；电镜显示神经元细胞核变空染色质聚集，线粒体肿胀，嵴变短或消失，核糖体减少，次级溶酶体增加，细胞变空，细胞膜不完整，胶质细胞核固缩。72h以后损伤逐渐好转，5d时损伤与6～12h组相似，8d时基本好转，与6h以内组基本接近。结论脑出血后血肿周围脑组织继发性损伤早期就有病理改变，损伤高峰在24～72h，与一般脑出血临床神经功能损害的变化规律基本一致。     

辅助发音器治疗腭咽闭合不全前后舌位置及运动特点比较研究

目的:讨论S-A治疗前后舌位置及运动形态对腭裂患者的影响。方法:采用标准头颅侧位X线片对腭裂术后VPI患者,S-A治疗前后、语音治疗一年后舌静止及运动形态进行了研究。结果:静止位S-A治疗后舌背明显降低,语音治疗后舌位逐渐抬高,发/a:/音时S-A治疗后及语音治疗一年后,不良代偿习惯逐渐消除,语音清晰度明显升高。结论:VPI的矫正及语音治疗对根除舌不良代偿习惯,获得清晰准确的发音具有重要意义。     

“E（疫）”时代背景下大学生心理危机干预体系构建的思考

本文探讨信息时代背景下,在校大学生高发心理危机的原因,并倡导高校教学管理人员充分利用当下信息技术成果对在校大学生进行心理评估和常态化心理教育,并依托当前高校信息化建设平台收集相关信息,构建易感大学生的心理危机预警及干预机制,以期将端口前移,更好地保障在校大学生的心理健康。     

An assessment of PKI and networked electronic patient record system: lessons learned from real patient data exchange at the platform of OCHIS (Osaka Community Healthcare Information System)

To enhance medical cooperation between the hospitals and clinics around Osaka local area, the healthcare network system, named Osaka Community Healthcare Information System (OCHIS), was established with support of a supplementary budget from the Japanese government in fiscal year 2002. Although the system has been based on healthcare public key infrastructure (PKI), there remain security issues to be solved technically and operationally. An experimental study was conducted to elucidate the central and the local function in terms of a registration authority and a time stamp authority in contract with the Japanese Medical Information Systems Organization (MEDIS) in 2003. This paper describes the experimental design and the results of the study concerning message security.     

表皮生长因子影响肿瘤患者舌苔变化的分子机制研究

目的 研究表皮生长因子（EGF）对食管癌细胞Eca-109细胞周期及表皮生长因子受体（EGF－R）表达的影响，探讨EGF促进肿瘤患者舌苔增厚的分子机制。方法 应用流式细胞术，检测EGF－R的表达和细胞周期。结果 EGF能明显促进Eca-109细胞膜上EGF－R的表达，使细胞增殖活性大大增强。结论EGF有是通过促进EGF－R的表达影响舌苔形成。     

Comparison of two automated multichannel haematology analysers in domestic animals

Blood samples from 33 dogs, 28 cats, 24 horses and 25 cattle were analysed in duplicate on the Coulter Counter S-Plus IV and the Baker 9000 multichannel haematology analysers. The precisions of each instrument and the correlations between the instruments were evaluated. The precisions of both systems were good but, the Baker 9000 system showed more variability between duplicate determinations for all parameters. The Baker 9000 had better precision for white blood cell count, haemoglobin concentration, and MCV. Correlations between the two instruments were excellent except for MCHC. Neither analyser reliably provided feline platelet counts and the Baker 9000 also failed to report error messages for 8 of 10 apparently false platelet counts. The Coulter instrument consistently reported higher haemoglobin concentrations and higher feline and lower canine white blood cell counts than the Baker 9000.     

Electronic patient-provider communication: will it offset office visits and telephone consultations in primary care?

BACKGROUND AND AIM: Electronic patient-provider communication promises to improve efficiency and effectiveness of clinical care. This study aims to explore whether a secure web-based messaging system is an effective way of providing patient care in general practices. METHOD: We conducted a randomised controlled trail and recruited 200 patients from the waiting area in one primary clinic in Norway. Participants were randomised to either the intervention group, which received access to a secure messaging system, or the control group receiving standard care without such access. Primary outcome measures were number of online consultations, telephone consultations and office visits in the two groups. Data were derived from patient records and collected 1 year prior to (baseline), and 1 year after the intervention. RESULTS: Forty-six percent of the patients who were given access to the messaging system (n=99) used the online communication system on at least one occasion (ranging from 1 to 17 messages per patient per year). A total of 147 electronic messages were sent to six general practitioners during a 1-year trial period. Eleven percent of the messages were to schedule an appointment. In 10% of the messages, the GP was unable to respond adequately and recommended an office visit. The reduction in office visits over time was greater for the intervention group than for the control group (P=0.034). There was however no significant difference in the number of telephone consultations between the groups during the study (P=0.258). CONCLUSION: The use of a secure electronic messaging system reduced the number of office visits at the general practice, but not phone consultations.     

The assessment of cell proliferation during 9,10-dimethyl-1,2-benzanthracene-induced hamster tongue carcinogenesis by means of histone H3 mRNA in situ hybridization

The aim of this study was to investigate cell kinetics and ultrastructural changes during carcinogenesis using a hamster 9,10-dimethyl-1,2-benzanthracene (DMBA)-induced tongue cancer model. Five squamous cell carcinomas, five dysplastic epithelia, seven hyperplastic epithelia, and four normal epithelia were obtained from 21 hamster tongues by applying 1.0% acetone solution of DMBA on the left lingual mucosa after scratching with a root canal broach. Ultrastructural examination revealed that the number of microvilli increased, whereas that of desmosomes decreased during carcinogenesis. Cell proliferation was analyzed by means of 5-bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization (ISH) for histone H3 mRNA. The BrdU and histone H3 mRNA labeling indices (LIs) were lowest for normal epithelium, higher for hyperplastic and dysplastic epithelia, and highest for squamous cell carcinoma. Cytoplasmic histone H3 mRNA and nuclear BrdU were localized in virtually identical areas of serial sections. The correlation coefficient for the relationship between these two LIs was 0.97 (P 0.001). These results suggest that the assessment of cell proliferation using H3 mRNA ISH will be a useful technique for investigating biological behavior during carcinogenesis.
