An Integrated Model for Patient Care and Clinical Trials (IMPACT) to support clinical research visit scheduling workflow for future learning health systems

We describe a clinical research visit scheduling system that can potentially coordinate clinical research visits with patient care visits and increase efficiency at clinical sites where clinical and research activities occur simultaneously. Participatory Design methods were applied to support requirements engineering and to create this software called Integrated Model for Patient Care and Clinical Trials (IMPACT). Using a multi-user constraint satisfaction and resource optimization algorithm, IMPACT automatically synthesizes temporal availability of various research resources and recommends the optimal dates and times for pending research visits. We conducted scenario-based evaluations with 10 clinical research coordinators (CRCs) from diverse clinical research settings to assess the usefulness, feasibility, and user acceptance of IMPACT. We obtained qualitative feedback using semi-structured interviews with the CRCs. Most CRCs acknowledged the usefulness of IMPACT features. Support for collaboration within research teams and interoperability with electronic health records and clinical trial management systems were highly requested features. Overall, IMPACT received satisfactory user acceptance and proves to be potentially useful for a variety of clinical research settings. Our future work includes comparing the effectiveness of IMPACT with that of existing scheduling solutions on the market and conducting field tests to formally assess user adoption.     

《护理管理学》课程素材类教学资源建设及应用

教学资源建设是教育信息化的基础,也是高等教育中的重要内容.《护理管理学》作为护理专业的核心课程之一,在提高学生利用管理学理论知识来解决临床实际问题上占有重要位置[1],但关于护理管理课程的素材类教学资源建设在国内却鲜有报道.近几年来,我院护理管理教研组收集制作了有关护理管理的文本、图片、视频、试题、文献资料等各类素材类教学资源,并应用于护理管理课程教学中,取得满意的教学效果,报告如下.     

利用人事档案开发医院人力资源信息管理系统

在医院发展技术化和国际化的大背景下,人力资源管理显得越来越重要。搭建起标准化、规范化、网络化的人力资源管理信息化工作平台,其前提是确定人力资源管理提升规划方案,重点是人力资源管理系统化。在医疗改革中,必须坚持以人为本,利用好人事档案开发出人力资源管理信息系统。     

Ethnobotanical inventory and medicinal uses of some important woody plant species of Kotli,Azad Kashmir,Pakistan

To document ethnobotanical informations of useful woody plant species in the region of Kotli, Azad Kashmir.MethodsAn ethnobotanical survey was conducted in Kotli. Data were collected by interview and semi structured questionnaire from selected local informants and traditional practitioners as well as by field assessment.ResultsThe present study documented the etnobotanical uses of 33 woody plant species. Most of the species have been used for dual purpose. Only 5 species are used for one purpose. Study revealed all species have medicinal value, among which 21 were used as fuel wood species, 16 as fodder species, 4 as timber wood species, 12 as edible fruit species, 6 as fence or hedge plant, 7 as ornamental species and 12 species had other uses.ConclusionsMedicinal plants are still widely used for health care by locals of Kotli. Some species of woodlands seem to be vulnerable to overcollection and deforestation. As the young generation is diverted toward allelopathic medicines, ethnobotanical knowledges of important medicinal plants are restricted to the old people only. It is suggested to close the forest of district Kotli for next two to three decades for the conservation of plant biodiversity.

How to encourage management of feline obesity in practice

Feline obesity is a disease the veterinary professional encounters on a daily basis, yet we frequently hear that addressing the disease is more challenging in cats than dogs. Furthermore, obesity in companion animals is now recognised as a chronic incurable disease yet the statistics indicate an increasing trend in overweight and obese cats. The multifactorial causes leading to obesity create challenges in how and who addresses the disease with the client in practice. A whole-practice approach is recommended, involving vets, receptionists and nurses to ensure pet owners receive a consistent message. This article aims to provide guidance, practical solutions for the consult room, how to communicate the problem and follow through with support for clients and patients.     

基于全生命周期理念的中药新药监管科学研究

中药是我国具有原创性优势的健康资源,近年来,国家高度重视中医药的价值,强调"传承精华,守正创新"以推动中医药行业的健康发展。但目前中药仍面临创新能力不足、中药新药发展缓慢的问题,严重制约中药产业的发展。中药新药研发具有政策导向性,全生命周期管理理念的运用和监管科学的兴起,将会促进中药监管体系与治理能力的发展,为中药研发提供政策指导。对中药全生命周期各阶段的特殊性及监管情况进行分析,探索中药监管科学建设思路,以期为改善中药新药监管效果提供参考。
