Arthroscopically treated intraarticular osteoid osteoma in the ankle-a report of 3 cases

We present 3 cases of arthroscopically treated intraarticular osteoid osteoma of the ankle. Emphasis is on the high index of suspicion for this lesion, the appropriate imaging modality and the efficacy of arthroscopic excision of these tumors with superficial location in the talus and tibial plafond.     

Recommended Resources for Cancer Patients: Transitioning from Paper Pathfinders to LibGuides

In 2015, The Learning Center, a consumer health library at MD Anderson Cancer Center, embarked on a project to translate paper pathfinders into online Recommended Resources in Springshare’s LibGuides platform. This project was successfully undertaken by a small staff of librarians and health education specialists with a range of technical skills and allowed online access to resources available both online and in The Learning Center. This article briefly addresses the activities and decisions leading up to the adoption of LibGuides, outlines the process of creating more than 40 online Recommended Resources, and describes the outcomes to date.

青年人才是公立医院医教研全面发展的主力军,是医院生存、发展的基础,培养和造就一批杰出青年人才是提高医院诊疗质量的关键所在。文章从青年人才工作的重要性着手,通过阐述公立医院青年人才工作中现存的主要问题,提出加强青年人才引育的建议。文章认为,公立医院需要进一步加强对青年人才管理,注重引育结合,做好顶层设计,制定实施多层次人才引进和培养措施,强化政策扶持,拓宽青年人才培养渠道;进一步加强青年人才专项考核与量化评价,建立健全人才考核与评价体系,实施全员聘用与岗位管理,同时注重培养创新型青年人才,探索可行的培养措施,为青年人才发展保驾护航。通过健全各项政策措施,夯实人才发展"软环境",吸引并留住人才,促进青年人才迅速成长和可持续发展,推动公立医院高质量发展。

Psychotherapy Borealis

In January 1987 the somatic health, psychiatric behaviour, and social adjustment of 23 chronic mental hospital patients at Ralambshov's Hospital, aged 18–45 years, were studied. Most of the patients were single schizophrenic men who had received an average of 7 years of mental hospital care. Most of the patients belonged to a low-income group but had adequate housing. The percentage of patients with working-class backgrounds was not greater than that in their immediate environment. Most members of the group, however, did have unstable family background and limited education and were socially isolated.     

Work satisfaction and career aspirations of internists working in teaching hospital group practices

This paper presents data on the characteristics, work activities, job-related stress, work satisfaction, and career aspirations of 150 faculty and 595 housestaff physicians who regularly provide continuous primary care in 15 teaching hospital-based group practices. The faculty were young, board-certified generalists; they had been recruited from local training programs and spent the majority of their time seeing patients and supervising housestaff. Job satisfaction among faculty and housestaff was generally high. Dissatisfaction occurred most often with aspects of work over which physicians had little control. Although work-related stress was common, it was not related to job satisfaction. Compared with housestaff in traditional residency programs, housestaff enrolled in special Primary Care Training Programs reported significantly greater job satisfaction. For all housestaff, satisfaction with work in the group practice was consistently associated with decreased interest in subspecialty training. assisted in preparing this report.
