The nature of care in light of Emmanuel Levinas

Abstract  The discipline of nursing is still struggling with the differences that need to be clearly defined between the notions of care and nursing care. To be able to clarify this distinction, agreement must first be reached on the meaning of care itself. The present article proposes a conception of care in light of the philosophy of Emmanuel Levinas (1906–1995). This philosopher's thought throws considerable light on the ontology of care, thanks especially to his focus on the deeper implications of human encounter. A profound sense of responsibility towards the other enables Levinas to bring out such dimensions of the concept of care as the relation involved, the feeling of affection, and the interventions. We examine here what these entail regarding nursing care.

总结1例射频消融术后并发肺栓塞的抢救配合及护理体会，认为肺栓塞患者一旦发生晕厥，应立即行心肺复苏，以确保有效的循环和呼吸，尽早溶栓，改善临床症状。积极的抢救、熟练的配合、良好的护理是此患者康复的关键，同时术后早期生命体征的监测、并发症的预防、合理饮食、适当活动及休息对预防肺栓塞的发生也是很重要的。     

CT增强扫描的观察及护理

目的观察CT增强时对静脉选择及对造影剂的不良反应，并制定出相关的护理措施。方法2003年2月-2004年8月间，对460例行CT增强扫描的患者，根据检查部位、病情、体质、年龄，调节注射量及速度、选择不同的注射部位及不同造影剂，并及时了解患者的思想动态，做好心理护理。结果静脉穿刺成功率达95％，对1例重度碘过敏患者的抢救及时，处置恰当。结论做好CT增强扫描的观察及护理工作，是保证增强扫描顺利进行并获得满意结果的必要条件。     

社区护理工作绩效评价体系的建立与实践

目的为了探索一套适合我国社区卫生服务机构持续健康发展的护理管理模式，以提高社区护理管理效应。通过专家评定法以及全体护理人员讨论的方法，给予每项护理工作以适当的权重，以此建立社区护理工作绩效量化评价体系，并组织实施。实施后，在社区护理工作方面形成了良好的管理导向，建立了有效的激励机制，提高了护理工作质量、效率和效益。因此，可以认为在社区护理实施工作绩效量化评价体系，是值得推广的一项举措。     

疾病对心理的影响和心理护理对策刍议

疾病是人体对外界事物与环境变化的反应过程，而此过程对机体造成了生理和心理上的重大影响，使机体的正常生理和心理出现失衡状态。要恢复机体的平衡必需要通过相应的措施，特别是针对心理变化的改善对策。良好的心理护理会使疾病的恢复“事半功倍”。     

剖宫产术后并发下肢静脉栓塞的护理及预防

通过对20例剖宫产术后并发下肢静脉栓塞病人的观察,分析了发生静脉栓塞的原因,提出了相应的护理、观察、预防等一系列措施.     

社区干预对老年慢性支气管炎独居患者生活质量的影响

目的提高社区老年慢性支气管炎独居患者的生活质量.方法将70例老年慢性支气管炎独居患者随机分为对照组和干预组各35例.干预组采取社区健康干预,如疾病防治知识讲解、自我保健训练及干预人员(志愿者)与患者结对提供帮助与督促等;对照组未采取社区健康干预.于6个月后采用生活质量(QOL)测评表进行评估.结果干预组日常生活能力、社会活动能力、抑郁心理状态、焦虑心理状态及QOL总分显著优于对照组(均P<0.01).结论通过充分利用社区卫生资源为老年慢性支气管炎独居患者进行疾病防治的健康教育,可提高其生活质量.     

'A good person does not feel envy': envy in a nursing community

The definition of envy is commonly based on psychoanalytical views of organizational culture. The purpose of this paper is to describe envy in a nursing community. The population study consisted of random sample of 120 subjects drawn from among the employees of one central hospital in Finland. The study material consisted of data collected by questionnaires (response rate 65%). The data were processed by various statistical methods. Open-ended questions were analysed by inductive content analysis. The results of this study indicated that the employee's view of his/her official position in the nursing community, his/her relationships with his/her fellow workers and the management as well as relationships with other nursing communities are all related to envy. The employee's view of his/her official position intensified his/her feelings of envy, if he/she had other negative feelings, anxiety, dissatisfaction with him/herself, and negative feelings towards fellow workers. The major object of envy was fellow workers' salaries. Envy towards other nursing communities was generated by alleged differences in the amount of labour, or by the charge nurse's greater interest in other sections. Employees coped with envy by hiding these feelings and being modest. Women coped with envy by being silent, while men denied the value of the object of envy.     

AVIATION NURSING IN THE WESTERN AUSTRALIAN KIMBERLEY

ABSTRACT: This article provides a brief overview of the Western Australian (WA) Kimberley Royal Flying Doctor Service and the role of the flight nurse who accompanies patients requiring aerial medical evacuation from rural and remote WA. Two short case histories of head injured patients evacuated from the Kimberley region will be outlined and some of the potential concerns associated with transferring patients at altitude in a confined and altered working environment will be discussed.     

Cancer support groups – are they effective?

Cancer causes significatlt emotional distress to a considerable majority of patients. Many of these patients typically receive little formal psychological intervention. Support groups, however, have provided one forum from which patients can attempt to gain help and can use to overcome some psychological trauma that accompanies the cancer hagnosis, subsequent treatment and relapse. This article reviews past studies of professionally run cancer support groups as opposed to psychological intervention groups. These studies are considered in light of the proposed benefits and the methodological limitations frequently inherent in such studies.
