über die Reaktion des Schweißes bei schwerer industrieller Arbeit in heißer Umgebung

Zusammenfassung Bei Arbeit in heißer Umgebung (mechanisierte Schmiede des Charkower Traktorenwerks) ist der an Stirn und zwischen den Schulterblättern gewonnene Schweiß mitp _H 7,8–8,0 (über 50 Versuche an 8 Vpn.) ohne Ausnahme deutlich alkalisch. Die Milchsäurekonzentration im Schweiß ist dabei beträchtlich (bis über 200 mg%). Die Konzentration an Ammoniak ist wesentlich geringer und nicht ausreichend, die Milchsäure im Schweiß zu neutralisieren. Untersuchungen des Harns ergaben eine deutliche Verschiebung derp _H bei der Arbeit nach der sauren Seite, auch die Quotienten NH₃-N: Gesamt-N liegen sehr hoch.     

Ecological features,pathogenic properties,and role of <Emphasis Type="Italic">Staphylococcus intermedius</Emphasis> group representatives in animal and human infectious pathology

The paper reports changes in the species nomenclature in the genus Staphylococcus that involve the most pathogenic representatives of the genus, the coagulase-positive staphylococci cluster. To date, this cluster includes six species in addition to Staphylococcus aureus: S. intermedius, S. schleiferi spp. coagulans, S. lutrae, S. hyicus, S. pseudintermedius, and S. delphini. Special attention was given to the representatives of the Staphylococcus intermedius group (SIG), which encompasses three closely related species, S. intermedius, S. pseudintermedius, and S. delphini, whose hosts are mammals and birds living in close proximity to human beings. The current data on the pathogenicity factors and role of SIG representatives in animal and human infectious pathologies were analyzed. The approaches to species identification, together with ecological and epidemiological features, and antibiotic susceptibility were considered. Specific biological features of S. pseudintermedius, the species most similar to S. aureus, are considered from the perspective of the properties of newly emerging pathogens.     

Role of the posterolateral nucleus of the thalamus in mechanism of information transmission to the visual cortex

It has been demonstrated in chronic experiments on wakeful rabbits that the posterolateral nucleus of the thalamus exerts tonic and phasic facilitatory influences on the formation of responses of the visual cortex elicited by a light flash. The tonic influences were expressed in an increase in the amplitude parameters of the responses of the visual cortex in conditions of the formation in the posterolateral nucleus of the thalamus of a focus of heightened excitability (anode polarization), and their perceptible diminution with potassium depression in this nucleus. The phasic influences were expressed in the formation in the visual cortex of thalamocortical responses elicited by pulse stimulation of the posterolateral nucleus of the thalamus, which displayed a close interaction with the responses of the cortex elicited by the light flash. This interaction consisted in a noticeable facilitation of the responses of the visual cortex against the background of a conditioning pulse stimulation of the posterolateral nucleus. The facilitatory effect of the phasic influences was more significant than the effect of the tonic influence.Translated from Fiziologicheskii Zhurnal SSSR imeni I. M. Crosslinking reactions of polyphenylene type polymers containing acetyl end-groups with bis(hydridosilyl) derivatives of o-carborane alcohols

Crosslinking reactions of prepolymers of the polyphenylene type carrying acetyl end-groups, based on 4,4′-oxydiacetophenone and acetophenone (FPP-1), or 4-acetylacetophenone and 4-(4-acetylphenoxy)phenyl-o-carborane (FPP-2), by means of 20–80 wt.-% of 1,2-bis[hydrido-(dimethyl)siloxymethyl]-o-carborane ( 1 ) were investigated. It was found that the prepolymer FPP-1 is easily crosslinked in the presence of 30 wt.-% of 1 at 300°C, and the prepolymer FPP-2 at 350°C.
