Introduction
The nature of community pharmacy is changing, shifting from the preparation and distribution of medicines to the provision of cognitive pharmaceutical services (CPS); however, often the provision of traditional services leaves little time for innovative services. This study investigated the time community pharmacists spend on the tasks and activities of daily practice and to what extent they are able to implement CPS-related services in daily practice.Methods
Self-reporting work sampling was used to register the activities of community pharmacists. A smartphone application, designed specifically for this purpose, alerted participants to register their current activity five times per working day for 6 weeks. Participants also completed an online survey about baseline characteristics.Results
Ninety-one Dutch community pharmacists provided work-sampling data (7848 registered activities). Overall, 51.5% of their time was spent on professional activities, 35.4% on semi-professional activities, and 13.1% on non-professional activities. The proportion of time devoted to CPS decreased during the workweek, whereas the time spent on traditional task increased.Discussion and conclusion
This study shows it is feasible to collect work-sampling data using smartphone technology. Community pharmacists spent almost half of their time on semi-professional and non-professional activities, activities that could be delegated to other staff members. In practice, the transition to CPS is hampered by competing traditional tasks, which prevents community pharmacists from profiling themselves as pharmaceutical experts in daily practice. 相似文献2.

Purpose There has been increasing interest in the occupational health of workers in small enterprises, especially in developing countries.
This study examines the association between psychosocial job characteristics and fatigue, and attempts to identify risk factors
for fatigue among workers of small enterprises in southern Taiwan.
Methods A structured questionnaire was administered to workers receiving regular health examinations between August 2005 and January
2006. The questionnaire collected demographic information and data on working conditions, personal health status and life
styles. It also collected information on psychosocial job characteristics, fatigue and psychological distress using three
instruments.
Results A total of 647 workers with mean age of 43.7 were completed. Probable fatigue was found in 34.6% of the sample. Fatigue was
found by multiple logistic regressions to be associated with the lack of exercise, working in shifts, depression score and
lack of social support at workplace.
Conclusions This study found associations between life style, psychosocial job characteristics and fatigue. Because the high prevalence
of probable fatigue was found in such small enterprises, the authors suggest that a short interview with some quick questionnaires
in health checkup for these small enterprise workers are helpful to early detect psychosocial and fatigue problems. 相似文献

Abstract The aim of the present paper was to describe some formative projects on work integration of patients with epilepsy and mild
cognitive deficits, so that similar initiatives may be promoted. The different phases of the formative projects were described:
the inclusion criteria, the selection of participants, the assessment instruments, the courses themselves and the final results
in terms of working experience. Thirteen participants were selected for each course. Patients were treated in different Lombardy
Epilepsy departments, which addressed them to the Epilepsy Center, S. Paolo Hospital, Milan, where the selection took place.
Seventy percent of the participants in the formative courses found a job in 1 year, even though most of the positions were
temporary. The work integration seemed to be mainly related to the level of intelligence and to verbal memory. We stress the
importance of organising similar courses in the future, in the context of wider networks. This will help more patients in
acquiring both economic and psychological autonomy from their families. 相似文献

This study examines young children's perceptions of work through a specific example. Reception class children at an inner city school were shown pictures of the same figure washing in four different contexts, ranging from housework to paid employment, in order to examine early classifications and conceptual systems relating to the concept of work and to ascertain whether these were gender related. Individual children varied in the complexity of their ideas, but the majority had not yet began to form hierarchical classifications of work which favour paid employment. There was evidence however that some children were beginning to devalue traditional women's work, suggesting that gender stereotypes are still prevalent amongst this age group, despite efforts by the educational system to counter this. 相似文献

Objective
To estimate the national prevalence of arthritis‐attributable work limitation (AAWL) among persons ages 18–64 with doctor‐diagnosed arthritis and examine correlates of AAWL.Methods
Using the 2002 National Health Interview Survey, we estimated the prevalence of AAWL (limited in whether individuals work, the type of work they do, or the amount of work they do) and correlates of AAWL in univariable and multivariable‐adjusted logistic regression analyses. Survey data were analyzed in SAS and SUDAAN to account for the complex sample design.Results
A total of 5.3% of all US adults ages 18–64 reported AAWL; in this age group, AAWL is reported by ~30% of those who report arthritis. The prevalence of AAWL was highest among people ages 45–64 years (10.2%), women (6.3%), non‐Hispanic blacks (7.7%), people with less than a high school education (8.6%), and those with an annual household income <$20,000 (12.6%). AAWL was substantially increased among people with arthritis‐attributable activity limitations (multivariable‐adjusted odds ratio [OR] 9.1, 95% confidence interval [95% CI] 7.1–11.6). The multivariable‐adjusted likelihood of AAWL was moderately higher among non‐Hispanic blacks (OR 1.6, 95% CI 1.2–2.3), Hispanics (OR 1.8, 95% CI 1.2–2.6), and people with high levels of functional/social/leisure limitations (OR 1.8, 95% CI 1.4–2.3) and was decreased among those with a college education (OR 0.6, 95% CI 0.4–0.8).Conclusion
AAWL is highly prevalent, affecting millions of Americans and one‐third of adults with doctor‐diagnosed arthritis. Findings suggest the need for more targeted research to better understand the natural history, success of interventions, and effects of policy on AAWL. BACKGROUND: The purpose of this study was to describe the health status and work limitations in injured workers with musculoskeletal disorders at 1 month post-injury, stratified by return-to-work status, and to document their return-to-work trajectories 6 months post-injury. METHODS: A sample of 632 workers with a back or upper extremity musculoskeletal disorder, who filed a Workplace Safety and Insurance Board lost-time claim injury, participated in this prospective study. Participants were assessed at baseline (1 month post-injury) and at 6 months follow-up. RESULTS: One month post-injury, poor physical health, high levels of depressive symptoms and high work limitations are prevalent in workers, including in those with a sustained first return to work. Workers with a sustained first return to work report a better health status and fewer work limitations than those who experienced a recurrence of work absence or who never returned to work. Six months post-injury, the rate of recurrence of work absence in the trajectories of injured workers who have made at least one return to work attempt is high (38%), including the rate for workers with an initial sustained first return to work (27%). CONCLUSIONS: There are return-to-work status specific health outcomes in injured workers. A sustained first return to work is not equivalent to a complete recovery from musculoskeletal disorders. 相似文献

Do weekly and fast-rotating shiftwork schedules differentially affect duration and quality of sleep?

Characteristics of shiftwork schedules can have distinct impacts on workers’ sleep. This report presents comparisons of the
effects of two different shiftwork schedules on duration and quality of the main sleep episodes in comparable worker populations
at two different petrochemical plants. No significant differences were found for sleep duration in comparing the two plants.
However, within each plant’s shift cycles, morning and night shifts showed shorter sleep durations than all other workdays
and days off. Quality of sleep was perceived as lowest for night shifts of both plant schedules, and of lesser quality for
weekly than for fast-rotating shifts. These results support recommendations for reducing the number of consecutive nights
of shiftwork. However, before recommending any optimal shift schedule, interactions of sleep duration and quality with shift
schedules need much further evaluation.
