Measuring burnout symptoms with COPSOQ, a standardized and validated questionnaire, is an important contribution to risk assessment of work. Comparison between the results found in a certain company and datasets in the COPSOQ database allows to estimate the severity of burnout occurance and to develop suitable measures of prevention. It is essential to have reliable knowledge about the factors which influence burnout symptoms positively as well as negatively. This knowledge can be analyzed due to a large number of assessments carried out with the aim of improving occupational health.  相似文献

PurposeTo assess recent trends and characteristics in radiologist-practice separation across the United States.MethodsUsing the Medicare Physician Compare and Medicare Physician and Other Supplier Public Use File data sets, we linked all radiologists to associated group practices annually between 2014 and 2018 and assessed radiologist-practice separation over a variety of physician and group characteristics. Multivariate logistic regression modeling was used to estimate the likelihood of radiologist-practice separation.ResultsOf 25,228 unique radiologists associated with 4,381 unique group practices, 41.1% separated from at least one group practice between 2014 and 2018, and annual separation rates increased 38.4% over time (13.8% from 2014 to 2015 to 19.2% from 2017 to 2018). Radiologist-practice separation rates ranged from 57.4% in Utah to 26.3% in Virginia. Separation rates were 42.8% for general radiologists versus 38.2% for subspecialty radiologists. Among subspecialists, separation rates ranged from 43.0% for breast imagers to 33.5% for cardiothoracic radiologists. Early career status (odds ratio [OR] = 1.286) and late (OR = 1.554) career status were both independent positive predictors of radiologist-practice separation (both P < .001). Larger practice size (OR = 0.795), radiology-only (versus multispecialty) group (OR = 0.468), academic (versus nonacademic) practice (OR = 0.709), and abdominal (OR = 0.820), musculoskeletal (OR = 0.659), and neuroradiology (OR = 0.895) subspecialization were independent negative predictors (all P < .05).ConclusionsWith over 40% of radiologists separating from at least one practice in recent years, the US radiologist workforce is highly and increasingly mobile. Because reasons for separation (eg, resignation, practice acquisition) cannot be assessed using administrative data, further attention is warranted given the manifold financial, operational, and patient care implications.  相似文献

BackgroundBurnout and psychological immune competency have not been investigated together among employees of high-risk specializations such as emergency medicine, intensive care or surgery.AimIn this study we aim to examine the prevalence of burnout among high-risk clinical staff and explore whether the strength of psychological immune competency predict burnout.DesignA cross-sectional design utilizing a self-administrated questionnaire was used to collect data from the participants (n = 216). Nurses (n = 145) and physicians (n = 71) from emergency medicine, intensive care and surgery departments participated in the study.MethodBurnout syndrome was measured using the Maslach Burnout Inventory, while psychological immune competency was measured using the Psychological Immune Competency Questionnaire. The data collection started in June of 2018 and was finished in March of 2019.ResultsParticipants with higher psychological immune competency reported lower levels of burnout: emotional exhaustion (r = −0.478; p < 0.001), depersonalization (r = −0.459; p < 0.001) and personal accomplishment (r = 0.543; p < 0.001). Multiple linear stepwise regression analysis revealed the psychological immune competency to be a stable predictor of burnout on all three scales.ConclusionPsychological immune competency shows a strong relationship with scales of burnout syndrome and as such should be further examined due to development of successful intervention and prevention programs.  相似文献

ObjectivesCOVID-19 outbreak can impact mental health including health care workers. The aim of this study was to assess the psychological impact of COVID-19 in French community pharmacists.Material and methodsWe carried out a postal-based survey to assess the psychological impact of COVID-19 in French owner community pharmacists based on three validated self-report questionnaires: Perceived Stress scale, Impact of Event Scale-revised and Maslach Burnout Inventory.ResultsThe sample consists of 135 community pharmacists. Twenty-three pharmacists reported significant post-traumatic stress symptoms (17%). High burnout symptoms were found in 33 (25%), 46 (34.9%) and 4 (3%) participants. Females scored higher than males for all questionnaires (P = 0.01).ConclusionsThis study is the first study which showed the psychological impact of COVID-19 in community pharmacists. Based on validated self-report questionnaires, up to 35% of pharmacists reported psychological disturbances. Interventions to promote psychological well-being of healthcare workers need to be developing.  相似文献

PuposeThis national survey aims, on the one hand, to perform a comparative analysis of working conditions, job strain and burnout of Belgian nurses, physicists and radiation oncologists working in radiotherapy and, on the other hand, to explore the role of emotional labor in the development of stress and burnout.MethodsWe used the Working Conditions and Control Questionnaire, the Positive and Negative Occupational States Inventory, the Maslach Burnout Inventory, the negative work–home interaction subscale of the Survey Work–Home Interaction Nijmegen (NEGWHI), Perceived Organizational Support Scale and Emotional Labor Scale. One open question asked about problematic job situations.ResultsNinety-eight nurses and physicists participated (33 % response rate), in addition to 66 radiation oncologists from a previous study. Although global scores of working conditions, job strain and burnout corresponded to normal scores, comparative analysis identified physicists as focus group concerning job strain and burnout. Moreover, nurses and physicists surface acting was a good predictor of job strain (β = 0.22, P = 0.01), emotional exhaustion (β = 0.32, P < 0.001) and depersonalization (β = 0.43, P < 0.001). Nevertheless, perceived organizational support was a moderator in this relation.ConclusionRadiotherapy employees were in the norms. The importance of organizational support was demonstrated to avoid potential health problems, for workers experiencing high levels of emotional demands.  相似文献
