Managing healthcare worker well‐being in an Australian emergency department during the COVID‐19 pandemic

Emergency Medicine staff in Australia and New Zealand are at the forefront of the healthcare response to COVID‐19. This article describes a well‐being plan for ED staff that has been devised to mitigate against the negative psychological impact of the COVID‐19 pandemic.     

辨经刺井法及颞三针治疗血管性痴呆临床观察

目的观察针灸治疗血管性痴呆（VD）的临床疗效。方法将54例血管性痴呆患者随机分为针灸组及药物组，治疗21d，观察治疗前后智力测定量表（MMSE）、日常生活能力表（ADL）评分值变化。结果两组各临床疗效指标均有改善，尤以针灸组显著。结论在针灸治疗的基础上，配合药物治疗VD患者，是一种行之有效的方法。     

小学教师主观幸福感与心理健康的相关研究

目的 研究小学教师主观幸福感和心理健康的关系。方法 用人脸量表和SCL－90测量了301名小学教师的主观幸福感和心理健康状况。结果 小学教师的主观幸福感呈右偏态分布趋势，主观幸福感与心理健康存在显著正相关。结论 心理健康是影响小学教师主观幸福感的因素之一。     

PCR微板杂交检测生殖器疱疹病毒感染

以 PCR扩增生殖器疱疹病毒 DNA,然后用特异性 DNA探针微孔板检测疱疹病毒扩增产物 ,同时用普通 PCR检测同样的标本。结果 4 3例病例组中 ,PCR微板杂交 35 (83% )例阳性 ,8例 (17% )阴性 ;普通 PCR37(86 % )例阳性 ,6 (14 % )例阴性 ,二者无显著性差异 ;对照组 PCR微板杂交 19例 2例阳性 ,17例阴性。同时 ,普通 PCR则有 5例阳性 ,14例阴性。PCR微板杂交具有快速、灵敏度高、特异性强、抗污染能力强的优点 ,适用于检测可疑 HSV感染 ,具有临床使用价值     

Gaining a Child: Comparing the Experiences of Biological Parents,Adoptive Parents,and Stepparents

This study compares the experience of gaining a child through birth, adoption, or marriage, extending the focus of investigation beyond biological parenthood and the transition made by first‐time parents. Using a subsample from the National Survey of Families and Households (N = 204), we compared reasons for having children, parental well‐being, family relationships, and work roles among parents who gained a child biologically, through adoption, or by becoming a stepparent. Overall, there were many similarities in the impact of gaining a child across the three parental groups. Repeated measures analyses of covariance showed that across family groups, after gaining a child, respondents reported less depressed affect, more disagreements with their spouse, and more support from their own parents. The differences across groups suggest that the experience of becoming an adoptive parent or a stepparent may be less stressful than the adjustment to biological parenthood.     

An adjustable microplate platform

Summary An adjustable platform has been designed to facilitate the addition of biological assay components to a multiwell microplate. Nonmanifold additions of liquid components to microplate wells are made especially easy by using this device. The microplate platform can accommodate any of the common formats of disposable microplates. Moreover, it can be adjusted to varying angles allowing the investigator to view into all the wells as assay components are being added.     

A method for the accurate determination of anti-hapten cytotoxic T lymphocyte precursors: correction for apparent 'anti-self' reactivity

A method is described for accurately determining the frequency of precursors of hapten specific cytotoxic T cells. The method is based on a standard Poisson analysis of limit dilution cultures, but makes a correction of 'anti-self' reacting clones and for spontaneously arising clones that recognise modified self. These corrections are shown to be especially important when low hapten densities are used, where there may be more than a 10-fold difference between the corrected and uncorrected frequency estimates. Determined levels of antigen specificity and of H-2 restriction are significantly enhanced by application of this method.
