Acupuncture Treatment of Vomiting

CASE HISTORY A female patient, 46 years old, head of the foreign affairs department of a certain university in Beijing, paid her first visit on October 9, 2006, with the chief complaint of vomiting for one month. She got vomiting after meals in early September. Before that, she had discomfortable sensation in the stomach due to angry with others, but she didn't pay much attention. Later, it developed into vomiting after eating. After the vomiting, the discomfort would be relieved, but with slight hypodynamia. She was once diagnosed as having 'neurogenic vomiting'. Having taken some western and Chinese drugs, the above symptoms were a little bit improved, but she would have nausea upon eating and with regurgitation. Because of the fear for vomiting, she did not dare to have food intake, with body weight reduction of 6 kilos in one month.     

Qiu Baoguo''''s Experience in Treating Consumptive Syndromes after Radio-Chemotherapies

Insomnia Due to Deficiency of Both the Heart and Spleen Treated by Acupuncture-Moxibustion and Chinese Tuina

OBJECTIVE: To observe therapeutic effects of the comprehensive therapy of acupuncture-moxibustion and Chinese Tuina for treatment of insomnia due to deficiency of both the heart and spleen. METHODS: 92 cases were divided randomly into the treatment group (treated by acupuncture-moxibustion and Chinese Tuina) and the control group (treated by acupuncture-moxibustion). RESULTS: The therapeutic effect of the treatment group was obviously superior to that of the control group (the CHI2 test showed P < 0.01). CONCLUSIONS: The comprehensive therapy of acupuncture-moxibustion and Chinese Tuina can give marked therapeutic effects for treatment of insomnia due to deficiency of both the heart and spleen.     

Analysis of CK-19,PDX-1,Nestin,Ngn3 in different donor islet purity in rats

Objective: To investigate if there are the CK-19, PDX-1, Nestin, Ngn3 positive cells in the donor islets of different purity in rats. Methods: Thirty male adult SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups. Islets were isolated using digestion by ductal injection of collagenase. Group Ⅰ (n=10): Separating cell preparations were not purified, Group Ⅱ(n=10): Islet sediment was purified with 25% Ficoll400 ,Group Ⅲ (n=10): Islet sediment was purified with 25% and 11% Ficoll-400. The levels of protein of CK-19, PDX-1, Nestin and Ngn3 were detected by immunohistochemistry and the mRNA of CK-19, PDX-1, Nestin, Ngn3 was amplified by RT-PCR. Results: After two different purification methods applied, three islet preparations of different purities were obtained. The difference of islet purity was significant among various groups (P＜0.05). Compared with group Ⅱ and group Ⅲ,the protein and mRNA of CK-19, PDX-1, Nestin,Ngn3 were both higher in group Ⅰ; group Ⅲ was poorly expressed. Conclusions: The three different islet purity donor islet have different CK-19, PDX-1, Nestin, Ngn3 positive cells within them, indicating that there are some islet stem cells in the purified donor islet.

Acupuncture Combined with Spinal Tui Na for Treatment of Primary Dysmenorrhea in 30 Cases

Objective: To observe the therapeutic effects in acupunture treatment of primary dysmenorrhea combined with spinal Tui Na, and study its mechanism. Methods: Thirty cases of the treatment group were treated by acupuncture combined with spinal Tui Na, and thirty cases in the control group were treated by routine acupuncture. Results: The total effective rate was 93.3% in the treatment group, and 73.3% in the control group, with a significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusions: Acupuncture combined with spinal Tui Na has good prospects for treatment of primary dysmenorrhea.     

猪肺磷脂注射液联合经鼻持续气道正压通气对呼吸衰竭早产儿的临床疗效及肌酸激酶同工酶活性的影响

目的 探讨猪肺磷脂注射液联合经鼻持续气道正压通气(NCPAP)对呼吸衰竭早产儿的临床疗效及肌酸激酶同工酶活性(CK-MB)的影响.方法 选取呼吸衰竭早产儿80例,分为观察组和对照组各40例.对照组采用NCPAP给氧治疗,观察组给予NCPAP给氧联合猪肺磷脂气管内给药.观察两组患儿治疗前及治疗12h、24 h后PaO2、PaCO2、血氧饱和度(SaO2)、pH的变化情况,检测治疗前及治疗5d后血清CK-MB水平;评估两组患儿的临床治疗效果.结果 两组患儿PaO2、PaCO2、SaO2、pH比较,差异均有统计学意义(P＜0.05),其中观察组治疗后的PaO2、SaO2、pH均高于对照组,PaCO2则低于对照组.两组的PaO2、SaO2、pH均随观察时间延长而升高(P＜0.05),PaCO2均随观察时间的延长而降低(P＜0.05).观察组治疗有效率为87.5％,显著高于对照组的70.0％ (P ＜0.05).治疗5d后两组患儿血清CK-MB水平均较前降低(P＜0.05),且观察组明显低于对照组(P＜0.05).结论 猪肺磷脂注射液气管内给药联合NCPAP可以显著降低呼吸衰竭早产儿CK-MB的含量,提高治疗有效率,起到很好的呼吸循环支持作用.     

A preliminary screening study on the associated proteins in human psoriasis vulgaris by serum proteomics technologies

Objective：To investigate the optimum screening conditions of associated proteins in human psoriasis vulgaris by serum proteomics technique, and to screen the different expression proteins related with psoriasis vulgaris. Methods：Serum samples of peripheral blood were collected from newly diagnosed psoriasis vulgaris patients in the clinic, and 20 matched healthy persons. Serum albumin IgG was removed by filtering with ProteoExtract Albumin/IgG. After comparative proteomics analysis the different protein spots were identified using 2-DE and MS. Results ：Electrophoresis figures with high resolution and reproducibility were obtained. Three different expression proteins were found only in the serum from psoriasis vulgaris patients, while nine other different proteins expressing from healthy volunteers. Conclusion：The protein expression was different in the serum between the psoriasis vulgaris patients and healthy volunteers. It was hoped that we could find the biomarkers related to psoriasis vulgaris by using proteomics.

Acupuncture Treatment of Chest Bi Syndrome

CASE HISTORY A male,a retired officer of 61 years old,paid his first visit on May 12,2006.The patient stated that 2 weeks before he suddenly got paroxysmal precordial choking pain,with irregular attacks.Each attack would last several seconds to several minutes.The attack was accompanied with heavy oppressed sensation in the precordial region,palpitation,lassitude,and in severe cases,sweating,which was once diagnosed by a hospital as'coronary heart disease'.Recalling the case history,the patient said that several days before he got angry with others because of some affairs in work,and he was not so used to the life pattern since he had just retired from his busy working post.At usual times,he was quick tempered and peevish.In recent days,he had poor appetite,and loose stool.

A study of the expression of p53 in posttransfection cells with rAdp53 gene and inhibitory activity in vitro

Objective To investigate the inhibitory effect and IC50 (50% inhibiting concentration) of the recombinant adenoviral p53 gene (rAdp53) in colorectal cancer cells in vitro and to guide clinical practice. Methods We evaluated the efficiency (IC50)of the rAdp53 and six kinds of anti-cancer drugs(5-fluorouracil, tegafur, mitomycin c, cisplatin, oxaliplatin, paclitaxel) in human colorectal cancer cell line-174 through the cell culture and MTT chemosensitivity assay to make sure the anti-cancer capability of rAdp53.Expression of p53 protein in transfection cells of colorectal cancer line-174 with rAdp53 was evaluated by immunohistochemical staining. Results The rAdp53 is a dose- and time-dependent anti-cancer drug, its IC5o is 5.73×1011 VP/ml, but its effect was not obvious when compared with other anti-cancer drugs. In control group, the immunohistochemistry stain was negative. However,rAd-p53 of five different concentrations were all positive in infected colorectal cancer cells with rAd-p53 and the earliest positive result would present 24 hours after infection. Conclusion The rAdp53 has good anti-cancer efficacy is colorectal cancer cell line174 in vitro. But its anti-cancer efficacy was less than those of the classical chemical medicine mitomycin c, 5-fluorouracil and cisplatin etc., when it was used alone.     

Effect of IL-10 gene transmission on the PTg-stimulated splenocytes proliferation and Th1 cytokines production from experimental autoimminue thyroiditis rats

Objective: To investigate the effects of gene therapy with IL-10 on PTg-induced proliferation of splenocytes and Th1 cytokine production from PTg-stimulated splenocytes. Methods: EAT rats were divided into four groups:group A (PBS PLL) , group B (pORF PLL), group C (pORFmIL10 PLL), and group D (pORFmIL10 MEM). The substances mixed with lipofectamine were injected into the thyroid tissues of rats on the 18th dday after immunization. The rats were sacrificed at the 8th week. In vitro proliferative responses to ConA and different concentration of PTg were measured by culturing 4×105 splenocytes pulsed with 18.SKBq of [3H] thymidine for the final 12h and then harvested for liquid scintillation counting. In vitro splenocytes were cultured with PTg (25 mg/L). Th1 cytokine IFN-γ,TNF-αand IL-2 were detected by ELISA. Results: The proliferative response to PTg was suppressed in group C, compared with that of group A and B (P＜0.05). The levels of IFN-γ,TNF-oand IL-2 in the supernatant of PTg-stimulated splenocytes were 3548.25 ± 779.47 pg/ml, 27.66±10.50 pg/ml and 3617.73± 609.15 pg/ml, respectively,which were much lower in group C than those in group A and B(P＜0.01, P＜0.05, P＜0.001, respectively). Conclusion: IL-10 gene transmission in thyroid tissues could inhibit PTg specific proliferation of splenocytes from EAT rats and the secretion of Thl cytokines from PTg-stimulated splenocytes.
