Students were overwhelmingly positive when given the opportunity to evaluate the pilot project and the model of pediatric community health nursing. According to the students, the strong points of the model were the orientation before the community experience, the presence of faculty of the community, the ability to contact faculty when needed, and the postclinical conference. The students' comments confirmed the faculty's belief that a clinical experience in community health nursing must place more emphasis on the specialty of community health nursing to be meaningful for students. To do the of job of educating tomorrow's nurses, ADN faculty should develop new strategies for teaching the pediatric clinical component of community health nursing. Clearly, hospitals are no longer the exclusive sites where students learn about patient and family needs and nursing care delivery. Community-based and community-focused experiences will continue to be required so that nursing students are prepared to practice in a dynamic and changing healthcare environment.  相似文献

Providing appropriate and timely learning experiences for maternity and pediatric clinical rotations can pose challenges for nursing programs. Learning experiences for student nurses may be limited because of a number of variables, including patient availability, the ability to conduct assessments, availability of clinical sites, and number of students allowed. Nursing programs may elect to creatively utilize simulation experiences to promote student learning in specialty areas. Objective: To determine the specific indicators of nursing students' competency in rehabilitation nursing posts; to form a training mode of competency of nursing students in rehabilitation nursing posts based on a modern apprenticeship system; and to preliminarily explore the effect of this training mode. Methods: The literature review method and the Delphi method were used to determine the specific indicators of nursing students' competency in rehabilitation nursing posts. Based on the competency index results, the training mode of modern apprenticeship in rehabilitation nursing specialty was determined. Taking a university as an example, the modern apprenticeship training model of rehabilitation nursing specialty was put into the operation group, and the students were selected into the experimental group. The nursing students who accepted the traditional training mode were selected as the control group to compare the competency of the two groups of nursing students before graduation. Results: Form a total of 191 indicators of nursing students rehabilitation nursing post competency content. The competency scores of nursing students in the rehabilitation nursing posts of the experimental group were higher than those in the control group in 24 work tasks, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusions: Based on the modern apprenticeship system, the training model of nursing students' competency in rehabilitation nursing posts could improve the matching degree of nursing posts of nursing students and may provide a reference for improving the training of rehabilitation nursing talents.  相似文献

The majority of nurses entering the specialty of rehabilitation have little or no previous rehabilitation experience. Specific strategies are needed to assist new staff in developing skills and concepts congruent with rehabilitation nursing practice. This article describes a two-stage orientation process that has been effective in helping new staff members make the practice transition from acute care to rehabilitation nursing.  相似文献

目的深入了解护理学专业学位研究生的就读体验及应对方式。方法采用深度访谈法,对上海市3所高校的15名护理学专业学位硕士研究生进行访谈,将获得的资料用Giorgi法进行分析。结果护理学专业学位研究生的就读体验包括:①现实与期望不符:报考时满怀期待、接受就读过程曲折;②心理负荷过重:不确定感、被看低感、被忽视感、缺乏归属感、焦虑和(或)无奈、负疚感。主要的应对方式有理性积极型、顺其自然型及挣扎沮丧型3种类型。结论护理高等教育者应当洞察和把握专业学位研究生的特点,不断完善专业学位研究生的招生条件及培养,积极推进护理学应用型人才的培养。  相似文献

Perioperative nursing is a specialty that has been eliminated from many nursing education programs. With the loss of perioperative clinical experiences, the number of students pursuing a career in perioperative nursing after graduation has declined. A faculty member at one Midwestern school of nursing developed and implemented a perioperative clinical experience for senior-level baccalaureate nursing students in a critical care nursing course. This program, developed with the assistance of four local hospitals and the college of nursing, included an eight-hour OR orientation and 56 clinical hours. Students were placed in the OR under preceptor guidance and supervision. Feedback from evaluations was positive and provided recommendations for improving the program, in particular, to allow more clinical hours and more hands-on experience for the students.  相似文献

A previous qualitative study [Nurse Education Today 20 (2000) 499] investigated perceptions of nurse teachers, student nurses and preceptors of the theory-practice gap said to exist within nursing. One theme was views of how the theory-practice gap could be closed. A subsequent quantitative study is reported here, in which this theme was translated into three factors. A full factorial experimental design was used to study the effect of these factors on theoretical knowledge and practical skill acquisition in a sample of first year undergraduate student nurses from one institution of higher education (n=19). The effect of whether a nurse teacher or preceptor taught students theoretical elements relating to a clinical specialty, whether the nurse teacher and preceptor collaborated on the content of what was taught to students and whether students went straight to, or delayed the clinical specialty following theoretical input, was examined. The results demonstrated preceptors were more effective than nurse teachers in promoting theoretical knowledge relating to their clinical specialty. Collaboration between the preceptors and nurse teachers on teaching content was ineffective at increasing theoretical knowledge. Delay between theoretical input and clinical experience was not detrimental for medical placements and for rehabilitation placements, resulted in an improved theoretical knowledge.  相似文献

目的了解高职护生对老年护理专业和老年人的态度。方法分层随机抽取高职护理专业护生997人,采用自编高职护生对老年护理专业认知及就业倾向性问卷和老年人态度量表进行调查。结果高职护生对设置老年护理专业持认同态度,认为老年护理工作发展前景较好,但就业倾向一般;护生对老年人态度评分在中上水平,高年级护生对老年人态度较低年级护生更趋于正向(P<0.01)。结论高职护生对老年护理专业有一定认识,对老年人亦有情感。构建合理的老年护理课程设置,改善职业环境,以提升高职护生对老年护理专业的承诺。  相似文献

目的了解临床指导教师对护理硕士专业学位研究生培养认知情况和具备的教学核心能力,为临床指导教师的选拔、培训及临床教学质量监控提供依据。方法对66名护理硕士专业学位研究生临床指导教师进行问卷调查。调查内容包括教师基本情况、对护理硕士专业学位研究生培养认知及其教学核心能力3部分。结果临床指导教师有本科学历45名(68.18%).仅7名(10.61%)有研究生指导经历,普遍对护理硕士专业学位研究生的培养缺乏认识。教师核心能力自评总分(120.55±7.37)分,其中专业能力(4.47±0.34)分,领导能力(4.01±0.22)分,解决问题的能力(3.89±0.30)分,教育教学能力(3.65±0.23)分;得分最高条目内容是评估和处理病人情况的能力(4.44±0.56)分,得分最低的条目内容是科研能力(3.29±0.89)分结论护理硕士专业学位研究生临床指导教师普遍缺乏研究生指导经验,对研究生培养认识不够深入,有一定的教学核心能力,但教育教学能力和科研能力较弱。应加强临床指导教师培训,使其掌握护理硕士专业学位研究生的教学目标、内容和方法,提高其教学核心能力。  相似文献

While rehabilitation nursing has been largely overlooked in Australia, it is becoming more visible. Its invisible nature is highlighted when a comparison to acute care nursing is made. However, through the activities of the rehabilitation nurses' professional nursing organisation and recent research there is a growing awareness of the nature of rehabilitation. That rehabilitation does not fit the current classifications for nursing specialties is also highlighted as a problem. Pediatric clinical learning experiences in which service provision is offered present a challenge to nursing faculty and students. The Learning-Service Community Partnership Model is a framework in which innovative learning and service provision are an integral part of the pediatric nursing clinical experience. This article discusses a program evaluation of a pediatric community-based health promotion program based on this model. The result from this program evaluation shows that a service program can be effectively managed and provided by pediatric nursing faculty and students. This article describes the shift in moving pediatric learning experiences into the community and validates its importance.  相似文献

目的探讨手足口病患儿的护理方法。方法对151例手足口病患儿的护理过程进行回顾性分析,总结手足口病患儿的观察要点及护理方法。结果经过密切观察,积极治疗和系统护理,151例患儿均治愈出院,无1例并发症发生。结论对手足口病患儿做好消毒、隔离工作,加强皮肤、口腔、发热、饮食的护理,密切观察病情,有利于患儿康复。  相似文献

目的:了解和分析护理专业本科生对护理专业认知及其变化,找出学生获得护理专业信息来源的途径,以期为建立科学的、有针对性的护理专业情感教育实施方案,为改进课程设置提供依据。方法:对我院2002级护理专业本科生进行问卷调查,包括护生入校志愿选择及其影响因素,对护理专业一般知识和护理工作内容认识,及其获得护理专业信息来源三方面。调查时间分别在第一学年入校后一周内和第二学年开学后第一周内。结果:入校初对护理专业感兴趣的学生仅占2.9%,有64.7%的学生没有认识到护理是一门专业。经过一年学习,有90%以上的护生明确了护士需要为病人提供心理支持、健康教育和咨询,并参与科研、教学、管理等工作,有412%护生认为获得护理专业信息主要是通过专题教育。结论:护生入校一年后对护理专业的一般知识和护理工作内容的认识有明显提高。  相似文献

Experiences of Students in Pediatric Nursing Clinical Courses   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
ISSUES AND PURPOSE. Learning may be inhibited if students experience undue stress in the clinical setting. This study described the stresses, challenges, and emotions experienced by pediatric nursing students.
DESIGN AND METHODS. Students (n = 75) completed a modified Pagana Clinical Stress Questionnaire at the end of their pediatric nursing clinical course. The comparison group of students (n = 383) was enrolled in nonpediatric clinical courses in the same nursing programs. RESULTS. The most stressful aspect of clinical practice was giving medications to children. High stress scores were related to more fear and disappointment in clinical practice. Students who experienced high stress were less stimulated by their clinical activities and developed less confidence in practice. PRACTICE IMPLICATIONS. Knowledge of students' perceptions of clinical stress can help educators and clinicians promote a positive and rewarding clinical atmosphere.  相似文献

Nurse educators are challenged to prepare nursing students to practice in a changing environment. Pediatrics is a particularly challenging and important area to prepare nursing students for future nursing practice. Several factors emerged that suggested the current approach to teaching pediatrics was not adequate. This article describes the revision of the baccalaureate curriculum to address concerns related to pediatric nursing concepts. These revisions include the integration of pediatric concepts into three major theory and clinical courses and the implementation of an elective designed for those students with a special interest in pediatrics. A popular preceptorship program for nursing students who want to complete their cumulative final clinical experience in pediatrics was also developed.  相似文献
