OBJECTIVE: To establish a quantification model of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) syndromes by sampling patients undergoing idiopathic precocious puberty(IPP) and early puberty.METHODS: A questionnaire for classifying and quantifying TCM syndromes was designed and administered. All the results were analyzed; the relationship between 3 types of syndrome and 47symptoms were summated. Meanwhile, the frequency distribution of each symptom or sign was aggregated. Fuzzy mathematics was used to develop a quantification model ofTCM syndromes.RESULTS: We found that precocious puberty had 3types of syndrome, including hyperactivity of fire due to Yin deficiency(Syndrome I), depressed liver Qi transforming into fire(Syndrome II), and end retention of damp heat(Syndrome III). In the IPP group, Syndrome I was the most common principal syndrome(100%). Forty-six patients(43.81%) werediagnosed with Syndrome I accompanied by Syndrome II and 11(10.48%) were diagnosed with Syndrome I accompanied by Syndrome III. In the early puberty group, Syndrome I was also the main syndrome(98.39%). The degrees of most symptoms were mild to moderate. Reddened tongue was the most common tongue manifestation(62.86% prevalence) in the IPP group. The most common pulse manifestations were slippery pulse, thread pulse, and taut pulse. The Asymptotic Normalization Coefficient(ANC) method was used to quantify the TCM syndromes in 167 cases. Diagnostic accuracy rate reached 91%, comparable to expert diagnosis.CONCLUSION: We find that there are 3 types of syndrome in the IPP group and in the early puberty group. Syndrome I(hyperactivity of fire due to Yin deficiency) is the main syndrome in the two groups. ANC may be an appropriate for quantification model ofTCM syndromes.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To explore correlations between the symptoms of constipation and abdominal distention and severity of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) in patients with stable disease.METHODS: We studied 191 patients with stable COPD(according to defined criteria) in this cross-sectional study from four three-level class A Chinese medicine hospitals in China. We built an Epidata 3.0 database and performed statistical analysis with SPSS, version 17.0. We analyzed correlations between the frequency of lower gastrointestinal tract symptoms(constipation and abdominal distention) and scores for major pulmonary symptoms(cough, sputum and wheezing) based on the St. George's Respiratory Questionnaire(SGRQ),6-minute walking distance(6MWD) and frequency of acute exacerbations of COPD(AECOPD).RESULTS: In addition to their pulmonary symptoms, 39.79% and 40.31% of study patients withstable COPD reported constipation and abdominal distention, respectively. Scores for major pulmonary symptoms(cough, sputum and wheezing), AECOPD and SGRQ values in patients with constipation and abdominal distention were significantly greater, and the 6MWD markedly shorter, than in those without them. According to Pearson's correlation analysis, there were strong correlations between these lower gastrointestinal tract symptoms and scores for pulmonary symptoms, SGRQ, 6MWD and AECOPD.CONCLUSION: Lower gastrointestinal tract symptoms such as constipation and abdominal distention can adversely affect pulmonary symptoms, frequency of acute exacerbations and quality of life in patients with stable COPD.  相似文献

Objective: To explore the relationship between the needle-retaining time and the therapeutic effect of acupuncture in the treatment of ischemic stroke patients. Methods: Based on the level of the severity of the patient's disease and the duration of acupuncture needle-retaining, 245 ischemic stroke inpatients were divided into 20 min, 40 min and 60 min groups according to the stratified random method. Acupoints used were Jianyu (肩髃 LI 15), Quchi (曲池 LI 11), Waiguan (外关 TE 5), Hegu (合谷 LI 4), etc. and stimulated electrically (2 Hz, sparse waves, an endurable strength) for 20 min, 40 min and 60 min respectively by using an electroacupuncture therapeutic apparatus. The treatment was given once daily, with 10 sessions being a therapeutic course. The severity of clinical neurological deficit was scored before and after the treatment. Results: The results showed that acupuncture could improve the neurological deficit severity of ischemic stroke patients. The therapeutic effect of acupuncture in improving myodynamia of the upper limbs and hands, and the total score of 60 min group was the best, followed by 40 min group and 20 min group respectively, indicating that longer duration of acupuncture needle retention has a better therapeutic effect in the treatment of stroke. Conclusion: There is a positive relationship between the needle-retaining time and the curative effect in improving ischemic stroke patients' clinical symptoms and signs by acupuncture.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To study information gained by Tradi- tional Chinese Medicine(TCM) four diagnostic methods and characteristics of syndrome develop- ment before and after treatment in patients with coronary heart disease, and to probe into assess- ment indexes of therapeutic effects with distinctive TCM features. METHODS: Information from the four diagnostic methods before and after treatment in 100 patients with coronary heart disease was collected using the TCM interrogation scale, a pulse condition in- strument, a tongue-face diagnosis instrument, anda voice diagnosis information collection system. Changes in the four diagnostic method results from before and after treatment were analyzed with frequency analysis and t-test methods. RESULTS: Before treatment, deficiency syndrome complicated with hyperactivity of pathogenic fac- tors was most common. After treatment, deficiency syndrome was most common. This change from complex syndromes to single syndromes indicates disease and syndrome alleviation. Frequencies of symptoms gained by interrogation after treatment for syndrome of deficiency of heart-Qi, syndrome of deficiency of heart-Yin, and turbid phlegm syn- drome were all less severe than those before treat- ment. Parameters of face color, color on all sub-re- gions of tongue, color of tongue fur, septic and greasy fur, and lip color after treatment all had sig- nificant changes. After treatment, part of the voice diagnosis parameters in the deficiency of heart-Yin and turbid phlegm syndromes had significant changes, but no significant changes were found in the deficiency of heart-Qi syndrome. CONCLUSION: Use of the TCM four diagnostic methods can provide an effective basis forTCM syn- drome diagnosis, observation of development of state of illness, and evaluation of clinical therapeu- tic effects.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate school success in pediatric patients undergoing acupuncture treatment for variousindications.METHODS: The grades achieved during both school terms by children undergoing acupuncture treatment for various indications at the pediatric out patient clinic of Ulus State Hospital were analyzed. Exam grades in mathematics, social studies, and Turkish was compared between the first and the second terms. Forty children were included in thestudy, with 22 male and 18 female, and their average age was 11.1 years. These patients were undergoing acupuncture treatment for attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder(ADHD), enuresis nocturna, migraine, obesity, atopic dermatitis, alopecia areata, and Tourette's syndrome. Treatments were done at the beginning of the second term. Four of the 25 patients with ADHD had borderline intelligence quotients. The report cards of all 40 patients were examined, and their grades in the first and these condschool term were compared.RESULTS: There was a statistically significant increase in the grades obtained in mathematics, social studies, and Turkish(P〈0.005) by the students from the first to the second school term. When 4 ADHD patients with borderline deficiency in intelligence were excluded, and the grades among the 21 patients with ADHD were compared for both terms, there was also a statistically significant increase in mathematics, social studies, and Turkish grades(P〈0.05).CONCLUSION: Acupuncture contributed to the academic success of the children who under went acupuncture treatment for their primary symptoms.  相似文献

Objective: The objective of the study is to explore the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome distribution in colorectal cancer (CRC) and its correlation with treatment methods and clinical laboratory indicators. Materials and Methods: Using the CRC cases report form of TCM, 760 CRC patients with TCM four diagnosis information, western medicine treatment information and clinical laboratory indicators were collected, and TCM syndromes distribution in CRC were summarized. The correlation between TCM syndrome type and western medicine treatments, clinical laboratory indicators such as liver and kidney function, immune function, and tumor biomarkers was analyzed. Results: In 760 cases of CRC, Spleen deficiency syndrome (SDS, 25%), liver and kidney Yin deficiency syndrome (LKYDS, 13%), LKYDS?SDS, 12%, spleen deficient Qi stagnation syndrome (SDQSS, 10%), and damp heat syndrome (DHS, 9%) were more common TCM syndrome types. LKYDS, SDS, LKYDS?SDS, and SDQSS were significantly distributed under different treatment methods (P < 0.001). There was no statistically significant difference in the distribution of immune function and cytokine among the five TCM syndromes (P > 0.05), but there was statistically significant difference in the distribution of blood routine, liver and kidney function, and tumor biomarkers (P < 0.05). Conclusion: LKYDS, SDS, LKYDS?SDS, SDQSS, and DHS were the first five TCM syndromes in CRC. There were the significant correlations between the distribution of TCM syndrome and the clinical laboratory indicators, and the distribution of TCM syndromes was affected by surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) com- bined with Western Medicine (WM) in patients with diabetic acute ischemic stroke. METHODS: Ninety patients with diabetic acute ischemic stroke were randomly divided into a treat- ment group and a control group. The 45 patients in the treatment group were given standardized treat- ment with TCM combined with WM. They received corresponding oral Chinese decoctions three times daily, according to their TCM syndromes, along with basic western medical treatment. The 45 patients in the control group were given non-stan- dardized treatment with TCM combined with WM. They received an oral Chinese decoction for promo- tion of blood circulation to inhibit hemostasis, regardless of their TCM syndromes, along with ba- sic western medical treatment. The treatments lasted for 4 weeks. Scores were evaluated on the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score, activity of daily life (ADL) scores, and TCM symptoms before treatment and 2 and 4 weeks after treatment. RESULTS: Analysis of variance for repeated mea- surements showed that there were significant dif- ferences in NIHSS and ADL score before and after treatment in both groups (P〈0.05). There were also significant differences between the scores at 2 and 4 weeks after treatment. There were signifi- cant differences in TCM syndrome scores before and after treatment in both groups (P〈0.05). There were also significant differences between the scores at 2 and 4 weeks after treatment. The X2 test showed no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P〉0.05). CONCLUSION: Standardized treatment was supe- rior to non-standardized treatment for clinical efficacy of TCM combined with WM in patients with diabetic acute ischemic stroke, and the superiority was more obvious in improving neural dysfunction, ADL score, and TCM symptoms. The adverse reactions were similar in the two treatment groups.  相似文献
