Application Effect of FMEA Method in the Continuous Improvement of Hospital Pharmacy Management

Objective To investigate the application effect of failure mode and effect analysis(FMEA) in the continuous improvement of hospital pharmacy management.Methods A total of 90 patients received drug treatment and concerned by the clinical pharmacists in the hospital pharmacy department from December 2015 to December 2017 were selected and divided into the control group(from December 2015 to December 2016) and the observation group(from January to December 2017),with 45 cases in each group.The control group was managed by the routine method,while the observation group was managed by the FMEA method.Results The score of pharmacy management quality in the observation group was(92.86±2.30) points,which was significantly higher than(78.21±2.27) points in the control group(P <0.05).The incidence of risk events in the observation group was 8.89%,which was significantly lower than 24.44% in the control group(P <0.05).The patients’ satisfaction with management and the patients’ medication compliance in the observation group were 95.56% and 93.33%,which were significantly higher than 77.78% and 75.56% in the control group(P <0.05).Conclusion The application of FMEA in the continuous improvement of hospital pharmacy management can improve the quality of management,patients’ satisfaction and medication compliance,and reduce the incidence of risk events.
