Efficacy of Yangxue Ziyin Granules Combined with Xiaoyao Pills in the Treatment of Functional Constipation

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Yangxue Ziyin Granules combined with Xiaoyao Pills in the treatment of functional constipation and the effect on the levels of intestinal neurotransmitter substance P(SP),nitric oxide(NO),and gastrointestinal hormones.Methods A total of 105 patients with functional constipation admitted to the hospital from May 2018 to May 2020 were selected and divided into the study group(54 cases) and the control group(51 cases) according to the random number table method.The patients in the two groups were treated with Xiaoyao Pills,on this basis,the patients in the study group were treated with Yangxue Ziyin Granules.Both groups were treated for two consecutive courses with four weeks as a course of treatment.Results The total effective rate of the study group was 88.89%,which was significantly higher than 72.55% of the control group(P <0.05).After treatment,the symptom scores of abdominal distension,abdominal pain and constipation in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group,the level of SP in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group,while the level of NO was significantly lower than that in the control group(P <0.05).After treatment,the levels of serum motilin,vasoactive intestinal peptide and gastrin in the study group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P <0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the study group was similar to that in the control group(16.67% vs.11.76%,P> 0.05).Conclusion Yangxue Ziyin Granules combined with Xiaoyao Pills were effective and safe in the treatment of functional constipation,which can improve the symptoms of constipation,regulate the levels of intestinal neurotransmitters and gastrointestinal hormones.
