Abstract: | Abstract: The case of a 33-year-old woman with a rare type of choledochal cyst (Choledochocele; Alonso-Lej's type III) is described. The patient had undergone prior cholecystectomy. Hypotonic duodenography showed a smooth defect in the duodenum. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreato-graphy (ERCP) showed a cystic dilatation of the terminal portion of the common bile duct. Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) showed a cystic lesion at the same site. This case was preoperatively diagnosed by ERCP and EUS. Transduodenal sphincteroplasty was done and good results were obtained. |
