Abstract: | A recent study by Gruzelier and Eves (1987, Int. J. Psychophysiol., 4: 289-291) purported to test the hypothesis of Iacono and Lykken (1979, Schizophrenia Bull., 5: 11-14), that instructions to subjects that clarify task demands facilitate habituation. However, the Gruzelier and Eves study did not provide an adequate test of this hypothesis. Moreover, contrary to the assertions of Gruzelier and Eves, the data presented in their paper are consistent with the predictions of Iacono and Lykken. |
