| Abstract: | : Some strategies for rapid investigation of the visual fields are reviewed. Those aspects considered are the testing of central and peripheral fields, the pattern and density of sampling the visual field with static stimuli and the most suitable stimulus intensity at which to begin the screening of each subject. Some of the design features of 10 visual field screeners and 3 automated perimeters are tabulated to indicate the importance of control of perimetric variables and how strategies for screening have developed from earlier to later designs. |
