Abstract: | A patient with an isolated deficiency in adrenocorticotrophin secretion in association with diabetes mellitus is described. Fasting hyperglycemia and the degree of glucosuria improved during the withdrawal of steroids, although an abnormal glucose tolerance persisted. Individuals presenting with hypoglycemia after an alcohol debauch should be evaluated for pituitary-adrenal deficiency states. |
