Correlation between Negative Perfectionism and General Self-efficacy

Objective To explore the relationship between negative perfectionism and general self-efficacy. Methods A sample of 445 undergraduates completed the negative perfectionism scale and general self-efficacy scale. Results ①Hesitation subscale was negatively correlated to self-efficacy. Over-cautlous in detail,over-planning and control,very high goals and standards subscales and the total scores of negative perfectionism were positively correlated to general self-efficacy（P〈0.05）. ②There were significant differences between different levels of general self-efficacy and the total score of negative perfectionism and the subscales except fear of failure （P〈0.01）. ③The significant influential factors of self-efficacy were hesitation, fear of failure, very high goals and standards,over-cautious in detail subscales,which accounted for 33.1% of the total variance （t=-11. 34,5. 43,4. 78,3. 22 P〈0.01）. Conclusion Negative perfectionism is closely related to self-efficacy. Furthermore,different levels of general self-efficacy will show different performance.
