An Effectiveness Study for Behavioral Activation to Depression

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of Behavioral Activation to Depression.Methods A total of 42 patients with unipolar depression were divided into behavioral activation therapy plus drug therapy group（combined treatment group）and drug therapy group by random block design for 10 weeks.Hamiltion depression scale（HAMD） was used to evaluate the clinical efficacy,and general quality of life inventory-74（GQOLI-74） was used to evaluate the patients′quality of life in the course of treatment and follow-up period.Results The total scores of HAMD reduced and the scores of GQOIL-74 increased significantly after 10 weeks for each group（P0.01）,Patients in combined treatment group had much better quality of life than patients in drug therapy group（P0.05）.After 1 year follow-up,The rate of the recurrence was lower significantly and improving was higher in combined treatment group than the drug therapy group.Conclusions Compared the drug therapy group,the combined treatment group has much better clinical efficacy,the behavioral activation technology＇s long-term result is good and can prevent recurrence.
