Enhancing Overall Management of Disposable Medical Supplies

OBJECTIVE To discuss the management approaches to control disposable medical supplies. METHODS To optimize the administrative rules for the practice of disposable medical supplies, improve the overall management procedures and strictly control the ordering process, quality assurance, clinical application and waste disposal. RESULTS The overall management of disposable medical supplies was enhanced, to guarantee the safety of clinical application for disposable medical supplies; prevent any backflow of disposable medical supplies outside the hospital and avoid causing public damages. CONCLUSIONS Development of strict administration guidelines, enhancement of surveillance procedures and emphasis of infection control among hospital staff are the prerequisites to effectively improve the management of disposable medical supplies and assure the safety of medical practice.
