Influence of Yiqi Yangrong decoction on mice with bone marrow depression induced by chemotherapy

Objective] To observe the effect of Yiqi Yangrong decoction on mice with bone marrow depression induced by chemotherapy.Methods] Thirty Wistar rats were randomly divided into blank group,control group,TCM group and each group composed of 10 rats.The rats of blank group was treated by intraperitoneal injection of physiological saline,150 mg/kg.After intraperitoneal injection of cyclophosphamide,150 mg/kg,the rats of both groups were suffered from bone marrow inhibition.One day after blood sample was obtained through inner canthus puncture for blood routine testing.In Chinese medicine group Yiqi Yangrong decoction,10 ml/kg,was given per oral,twice daily for 10 days.The blood routine test,granulocyte-macrophage-JiLa stimulating factor content and spleen index were measured.Results] The body weight in Chinese medicine group was significantly higher than that of control group.Peripheral blood leukocytes and platelet were also significantly increased.Spleen index in Chinese traditional medicine group was significantly increased compared with the experimental group.Conclusion] Yiqi Yangrong decoction can control rat weight dropping,significantly increase the decreasing of peripheral leukocyte and platelet induced by marrow inhibition caused by radiation and chemotherapy,at the same time control of the enlargement of the spleen.
