| Abstract: | Twenty-nine patients with mitral stenosis(MS)were studied for measuring mit-ral valvular area(MVA)by Doppler ultracardiography,and the concentration ofatrial natriuretic factor(ANF)by radioimmunoassy.The results showed,there wasa weak relationship between MVA and ANF in MS and 9 NS1 groups(r=-0.44,P<0.005, n=38).Furthermore,a value of ANF higher than (?)+2SD of control couldpredict critical mitral stenosis,with a prognostic sensitivity of 69%,and specialityof 71%. |
