Sexual quality of postoperative patients with gastrointestinal tumors and its influencing factors

Objective To investigate the status and influencing factors of sexual quality in postoperative patients with gastrointestinal tumors.Methods 224 patients with gastrointestinal tumors,admitted to Daping Hospital,Army Medical University from January 2018 to January 2019,were selected as subjects.The Arizona sexual experience table was used to evaluate the sexual quality of all patients before and 6 months after operation.Six months after surgery,all patients were investigated with clinical data questionnaires,social impact scales,and sexual quality scales designed by the Hospital,and analyzed by univariate analysis and multiple linear regression analysis,to evaluate the status and influencing factors of sexual quality in patients with gastrointestinal tumors.Results The total score of sexual quality of patients with gastrointestinal tumor before surgery was(15.46±2.87)points,and the total score of sexual quality 6 months after surgery was(21.03±2.93)points.The total score of sexual quality of gastrointestinal tumor patients before surgery was significantly lower than that of 6 months after surgery,with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that education,family relationship,sexual guidance and stigma were the influencing factors for the quality of sexual life after gastrointestinal tumor surgery(P<0.05).Conclusions The postoperative sexual quality of patients with gastrointestinal tumor is low,and the patient′s education level,family relationship,sexual life guidance and stigma are their influencing factors.Therefore,psychological intervention should be strengthened to help the patient get more social support and guide the patient on how to have a harmonious sexual life.
