Effect of Dahuang Muli Decoction retention enema on related physicochemical indexes and cardiovascular adverse events in patients with chronic renal failure and secondary hyperparathyroidism after total parathyroidectomy

Objective To observe effect of Dahuang Muli Decoction retention enema on related physicochemical Indexes and cardiovascular adverse events in patients with chronic renal failure and secondary hyperparathyroidism(SHPT)after total parathyroidectomy(PTX).Methods A total of 96 maintenance hemodialysis(MHD)patients,who has chronic renal failure and SHPT after total PTX,were randomly divided into two groups.The control group was treated with calcium carbonate D 3 tablets and calcitriol capsules(n=48),and the treatment group was treated with Dahuang Muli Decoction retention enema on the basis of the control group(n=48).After 3 months of treatment,the efficacy in the two groups was compared,and the changes of related physicochemical indexes and cardiovascular adverse events before and after treatment were observed between the two groups.Results The total effective rate in treatment group was better than that in control group 87.5%(42/48)vs 70.8%(34/48)(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of serum calcium(Ca),phosphorus(P),parathormone(PTH),bone alkaline phosphatase(BALP)and typeⅠcollagen hydroxyl-terminal peptideβspecial sequence(β-CTX)in the two groups were all higher than those before treatment(P<0.05),while the coronary calcification score was decreased(P<0.05).Compared between two groups,Ca,P,PTH,BALP andβ-CTX in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05),and the coronary calcification score was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion When Dahuang Muli Decoction retention enema is used to treat the patients with chronic renal failure and SHPT after total PTX,it can effectively improve the inhibition of bone formation and bone resorption in patients,promote the absorption of intestinal free calcium,and reduce the incidence of adverse cardiovascular events.
