灭菌棉签启封后有效使用时间的探讨

为探讨灭菌棉签启封后的有效使用时间．作报告了该院15个科室的45包棉签在启封后静置不用与随身携带使用后每隔2h采样培养做微生物学鉴定。结果显示：启封后在静置情况下，8h内无菌生长，12h内样本合格率85．71％，未检出致病菌．仅检出条件致病菌3种9株，占81．82%；在随身携带与使用的情况下，4h内无菌生长，12h内样本合格率65.24％，检出致病菌1种3株占4．62%．条件致病菌7种54株占83.08％。提示：灭菌棉签启封后被细菌污染的程度与启封时间和使用频率成正比．启封后静置不用有效时间为8h，在病房中使用有效时间定为4h内为最低要求。同时提出了加强棉签管理，预防院内感染的具体措施，

Efficacy of Unsealed Sterilized Cotton Swabs

A microbiological test was made to determine the efficacy of unsealed sterilized cotton swabs in 15 departments ofour hospital. Bacterial cultures were made from the samples of 45 packs of sterilized cotton swabs every two hours after beingunsealed. The results showed that no bacteria produced within 8 hours in the samples unsealed and placed untouched, and85. 71 percent of them remained uncontaminated within 12 hours. In the samples unsealed but used, no bacterial growth wasfound within 4 hours, and 65. 24 of them remained uncontarninated within 12 hours. 3 strains of one pathogenic bacteriumwere found (4. 62 % ) and 54 strains of 7 conditional pathogenic bacteria were detected (83. 08 % ). The results suggest thatthe effectual period of sterilized cotton swabs is 8 hours when they are unsealed and placed untouched, and 4 hours whenthey are unsealed but used. At best, unsealed sterilized cotton swabs should be used within 4 hours in the ward. Measures tostreng then the managetnent of sterilized cotton swabs are also discussed so as to avoid patient infections in the hospital.
