Abstract: | Plasma levels of the dopamine metabolite homovanillic acid (HVA) were examined in depressed patients and controls. There were no significant differences between the groups. In particular, there were no significant differences for plasma HVA levels between depressed patients with and without melancholia or between depressed patients who were cortisol nonsuppressors or suppressors. |
