Evaluation System of Occupational Competence of Caregivers of the Elderly with Dementia in Nursing Home

Objective To develop an evaluation system of occupational competence of caregivers of the elderly with dementia in nursing home. Methods The initial items of the system were identified after literature review and the connotation of occupational competence of caregivers of the elderly with dementia in nursing home was determined. Delph method and analytic hierarchy process were used to develop the final items and its weight. Results The recovery rate of the two rounds of expert consultation was 96% and 100% respectively and authority coefficient was 0.868 and 0.884 respectively, indicating statistical significance (P<0.05). The final system consisted of 5 first-level, 17 second-level and 49 third-level items. Conclusion the constructed system in the study is reliable and provides reference for evaluating the occupational competence of caregivers of the elderly with dementia in nursing home.
