Abstract: | There seems to be a consensus in the surgical literature that wound infections after surgery for cancer have a favorable effect on the course of certain malignant diseases. In a review of laryngeal cancer during a 10-year period, the recurrence rate was statistically lower in the group that suffered wound infections than in the group that did not have a wound infection. |
