| Abstract: | The roaintenance of invasivc measurement of continuous intra-arterial blood pressure(BP) is important in monitoring BP for postoperative patients in ICU.From October 1992 toDecember 1993,we used the method of continuous slow flush of saline without heparin for maintenance of invasive intraarterial BP in 51 cases and the method of intermittent flush of saline withheparin in 5 cases.Our clinical observation showed that the invasive intraarterial BP was bettermaintained and monitored by continuous slow flush of saline without heparin than by intermittentflush of saline with heparin.The former method in 51 cases avoided many weak points of the latter method in 5 cases and was more suitable for patients following cardiac operations in ICU |
