Abstract:Objective To explore the methods and effects of dietary intervention on preoperative patients by operating room nurses. Methods According to the order, the length of time and the estimated onset time of surgeD', the specific dictary, intervention was implemented on the preoperative patients. Results The results showed that the fasting time before operation was close to the national standards of China. There was no significant difference between the basis of Mood glucose and preoperative blood glucose ( P 〉 0.05 ). There was not an operation rescheduled or not a case of gastric content back flow because of too short fasting time before operation. Patients could be tolerated toward hungry and thirst, and their satisfaction was improved. Conclusion The preoperative dietary nursing and guidelines by operating room nurses can reduce the preoperative fasting time and improve patients satisfaction and surgical safety.
