Abstract: | Objective Toobservethechangesinserumsoluble intercellularadhesionmoleculetype 1(ICAM 1) , vascularcelladhesionmoleculetype 1(VCAM 1) , E selectinandvonWillebrandfactor (vWf)inpatients withacutecoronarysyndrome Methods Serialvenousbloodsamplesweretaken from 2 1patientswithacutemyocardialinfarction(AMI) beforeand 4 ,8,12 ,2 4 ,4 8and 72hafter thrombolytictreatmentordirectPTCA Oneblood samplewasdrawnfrom 16patientswithunstable anginaand 16controlsubjects Serumconcentrations ofICAM 1,VCAM 1,E selectinandvWfwere determinedusingadoubleantibodysandwichenzyme linkedimmunosorbentassay Results SerumlevelsofICAM 1,VCAM 1, E selectinandvWfwerehigherinpatientswithacute coronarysyndromethanincontrols PatientswithAMI andsuccessfulreperfusiontherapyhadasignificant reductionintheserumconcentrationofICAM 1andE selectinat 2 4and 4 8h ,VCAM 1at 2 4and 72hand vWfat 12 ,2 4 ,4 8and 72h ,buthadpeakinserum levelsofICAM 1andE selectinat 4h Thenumberof diseasedcoronaryarterieswasnotrelatedtothelevels ofICAM 1,VCAM 1andE selectin Conclusion Theserumconcentrationofsolublecell adhesionmoleculeswaselevatedsignificantlyin patientswithacutecoronarysyndrome Successful reperfusiontherapywasassociatedwithareductionin theserumconcentrationsofsolublecelladhesion moleculesinpatientswithAMI |
