Abstract:Cardiovascular complications are common inpatients with kidney disease. Regulating the lipid levels in these patients is important so that the risks of kidney and cardiovascular complications can be minimized. Lipid regulation decreases the incidence of coronary vascular events and other vascular complications in patients with kidney disease; however, whether lipid regulation slows progression of kidney disease is not yet known. Additional studies of the implications of dyslipidemia in patients with kidney disease are needed.
