Abstract: | A patient having renal cell carcinoma with multiple pulmonary metastasis was treated with recombinant interleukin-2. Pulmonary metastatic nodes were markedly diminished. The response was maintained for 4 months. At Autopsy, many fibrotic areas in which metastatic carcinoma was thought to have previously existed and then healed were observed in the bilateral pulmonary lobes, although a few microscopically tiny metastatic lesions still remained. |
