Abstract:Objective:To observe the shortest latency and occurrence rates of F-wave of median,ulnar,peroneal and tibial nerves in healthy young volunteers,and to discuss the influence rule of nerve,age,sex,side and other factors to guide clinical practice.Methods:Nine hundred and ninety-six healthy volunteers from the Medical College of Yanbian University were selected as study subjects.The F-waves of median nerve,ulnar nerve,peroneal nerve and tibial nerve were detected by Portabook EMG evoked potential instrument produced by NICOLET company in the United States and the shortest latency,the average number of F waves and the occurrence rates of F waves"≤50%"and">50%"in male 18-21 years old group,female 18-21 years old group,male 22-25 years old group and female 22-25 years old group were compared and analyzed.Results:(1)The shortest F-wave latency of ulnar,peroneal and tibial nerves was longer in male groups than that in female group on both sides(all P<0.01).(2)The average number of median nerve F wave on the left was fewer in male 22-25 year old group than that in female 22-25 year old group,while that was more on the right(all P<0.01);that was fewer in female 18-21 year old group on the left than that on the right(P<0.01),more than right side in female 22-25 year old group(P<0.01).The number of F-waves of ulnar and tibial nerves in male group was more than that in female group(P<0.01),and that in 22-25 years old group was more than that in 18-21 years old group(P<0.05).The number of F-waves of peroneal nerve in male group was more than that in female group(P<0.01),that in female 22-25 year old group more than that in female 18-21 years old group(P<0.05),and fewer on the left than that on the right in male 18-21 years old group(P<0.05).The proportion of F-wave occurrence">50%"(5-8)in female 18-21 year old group was lower than that in female 22-25 year old group for the left side peroneal nerve(P<0.01);that was lower in male 18-21 year old group than that in male 22-25 year old group for the left side tibial nerve(P<0.05).Conclusion:There are differences between male and female in ulnar,peroneal and tibial nerves for the shortest latency of F-wave.There are differences in gender and age of median nerve for the number of F-waves.There are differences between the left and right sides of tibial nerve.The occurrence rate of F-wave is closely related to age.
