| Abstract: | We describe the echocardiographic findings of extrinsic compression of the left atrium by a large aneurysm of the descending aorta. Pulsed Doppler echocardiography demonstrated increased velocity at the junction of left atrium and pulmonary vein suggesting obstruction of left atrial filling. |
