Effects of comprehensive nursing on body mass and gross motor function rehabilitation of children with malnourished cerebral palsy

Objective To observe the effects of comprehensive nursing on body mass and gross motor function rehabilitation of children with malnourished cerebral palsy.Methods From June 2018 to June 2019,50 cases of children with malnourished cerebral palsy consulted in children’s rehabilitation department of Nanhai,Maternity and Children’s Hospital Affiliated to Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine were chosen and divided into control group and treatment group according to the consulting sequence,with 25 cases in each.The control group was given routine diet nursing,on this basis, the treatment group was combined with tuina, medicinal diet and moxibustion for comprehensive nursing.Three weeks constituted 1 course of treatment for both groups,the interval of each course was 20 days, totally 3 courses of treatment.We kept statistics about body mass and gross motor function measure(GMFM) score before and after treatment,respectively.Results Before treatment,the difference was not statistically significant in body mass between the 2 groups(P>0.05),and they were comparable.After treatment,the body mass of the 2 groups significantly increased compared with the same group before treatment(P<0.05 or P<0.01),moreover,the treatment group increased more significantly(P<0.01).Before treatment,the difference was not statistically significant in GMFM score between the 2 groups(P>0.05),and they were comparable.After treatment,GMFM score of the 2 groups increased compared with the same group before treatment(P<0.01),moreover,the treatment group increased more significantly,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Pearson correlation analysis was further applied,which showed that the correlation coefficient was more than 0.5(ρ=0.524, P<0.01),indicating that there was a correlation between the body mass and the rehabilitation effect of children with malnourished cerebral palsy.Conclusion On the basis of routine diet nursing,combined with tuina,medicinal diet and moxibustion,comprehensive nursing for children with malnourished cerebral palsy can not only promote the body mass of children,improve their motor function,but also have a positive correlation with the improvement of motor function.
