Clinical effect of phaco combined with IOL implantation through 3.2 mm clear corneal incision for cataract

Objective To study the efficacy of 3.2 mm clear corneal incision phacoemulsification(Phaco)combined with intraocular lens(IOL)implantation in the treatment of cataract and its influence on patients’corneal astigmatism.Methods 90 patients with cataracts were treated with 3.2 mm clear corneal incision Phaco combined with IOL implantation.The corneal astigmatism,surgical astigmatism before and after treatment were compared,and occurrence of complications was observed.Results There was no statistically significant difference in corneal astigmatism 3 days,1 week,and 1 month after surgery compared with that before surgery(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in astigmatism 3 d,1 week and 1 month after surgery(P>0.05).Among the 90 patients,1 case had intraoperative capsule rupture,accounting for 1.11%;18 cases had postoperative anterior chamber flashing,accounting for 20.00%,5 cases had corneal edema,accounting for 5.56%,and 2 cases had high intraocular pressure,accounting for 2.22%.Conclusion 3.2 mm clear corneal incision Phaco combined with IOL implantation can effectively improve the visual acuity of cataract patients and has no significant effect on corneal astigmatism.It is an important way to treat cataract and has clinical practical value.
