Clinical value of routine blood test in diagnosis of iron deficiency anemia

Objective To investigate the clinical value of routine blood test in diagnosis of iron deficiency anemia.Methods A total of 80 anemia patients were divided into control group(iron deficiency anemia)and research group(thalassemia)according to different types of anemia,with 40 cases in each group.Both groups received routine blood test.The red blood cell count(RBC),hemoglobin(Hb),red blood cell distribution width(RDW),mean corpuscular volume(MCV),mean corpuscular hemoglobin(MCH)and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration(MCHC)were compared between the two groups.Results The red blood cell count(3.13±0.92)×10¹²/L,mean corpuscular volume(64.99±1.78)fl,red blood cell distribution width(12.35±0.82)%of the research group were all lower than(5.21±1.51)×10¹²/L,(77.54±3.58)fl and(20.05±1.32)%of the control group,and hemoglobin(108.54±12.76)g/L,mean corpuscular hemoglobin(24.25±2.33)pg and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration(321.58±5.22)g/L were all higher than(82.11±10.78)g/L,(22.51±1.56)pg and(278.33±4.21)g/L of the control group.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion For iron deficiency anemia patients,routine blood test can effectively distinguish iron deficiency anemia from thalassemia,which is conducive to preparing for further treatment of the disease.The clinical test effect is significant,and this method is worthy of promotion and application.
