Effects of systematic in-hospital day rehabilitation on chronic schizophrenia patients

Objective To study and analyze the effect of systematic in-hospital day rehabilitation on patients with chronic schizophrenia.Methods A total of 120 chronic schizophrenia patients treated in our hospital between April 2016 and November 2018 were selected and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group.The control group received routine intervention,while the observation group was provided with systematic in-hospital day rehabilitation.The efficacy,self-knowledge and compliance,individual and social performance and self-esteem were evaluated using the brief psychiatric rating scale(BPRS),the insight and treatment attitude questionnaire(ITAQ),personal and social performance scale(PSP)and Luxembourg scale of self-esteem(SES)for both groups before and after the intervention.Results After the intervention,the BPRS scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group(t=10.710,P<0.001).However,their ITAQ,PSP and SES scores higher than the latter(P<0.05 for both).Conclusion The application of systematic in-hospital day rehabilitation model in patients with chronic schizophrenia can obtain relatively ideal rehabilitation effect,improve their self-knowledge and compliance,personal and social performance,as well as self-esteem.Therefore,it is worth promoting.
