Transorbital Keyhole Operative Approach for 35 Cases Sellar and Anterior Skull Base Diseases

Objective To summarize the operative experience of transorbital keyhole approach microsurgery for sellar and anterior skull base diseases. Methods A total of 35 cases of sellar and anterior skull base disease were treated in this hospital from July 2006 to December 2009.12 cases of hypophysoma,2 cases of craniopharyngioma,One case of tuberculum sellae meningioma,2 cases of olfactorygroove meningioma,18 cases of Willis anterior circulation aneurysm.All Patients were all operated through transorbital keyhole approach. Results 15 cases of tumor were achieved total resection.All 18 cases of artery aneurysm were clipped,1 case frontal lobe infarction was found. Conclusion Transorbital keyhole approach for sellar and anteria skull base diseases might be safe and minimally invasive,it has some of limitations for treatment of aneurysm.
