Factors and Prevention Experience of Wound Infection after Appendectomy

Objective To expore how to prevent and reduce infection rates after appendicitis surgery.Methods 186 cases of such patients,from 2002-01~2009-12 in our hospital,were analyzed retrospectively.Results The simple appendicitis and chronic appendicitis were 49 cases,suppurative appendicitis with obstruction were 119 cases,18 cases were perforated appendicitis with peritonitis.Conclusion To strict protect incision,not to intra-abdominal incision exposed in the inflammatory exudate or pus organizations.The early detection of changes in incision,as soon as possible for treatment,reasonable antibiotics application,strong sense of sterile surgical staff are the key to prevention of wound infection.
