| Abstract: | The effect of Gynostemma Pentaphyllum Extract (GP) on the Blood-Sugar levelwere investigated in experimental animals. The results showed that GP apparentlyimproved the glucose tolerance of the older rats (>14 months), improved the lowblood sugar level of the aging rats, and lowered fasting blood glucose level ofalloxon-induced diabetic mice, but GP had no influence on blood sugar of the normalmice. The results suggested that the effect of GP was benficial to the metabolism ofthe aging rats. |
