| Abstract: | The configuration of mitiromycin (2) was first determined by NMR experiments including the NOE technique. The absolute structure of 2 was related to mitomycin B (3) because 2 was derived from 3 under basic conditions. The ketonic form 4 was presumed to be involved in the generation of 2. |
