| Abstract: | Rectal cancer should no longer be thought of as only a surgically treated disease. Centers that treat large numbers of rectal cancer patients should provide state of the art radiotherapy and chemotherapy as well as offer anatomic tumor-specific operations for advanced-stage cancers and local treatment options for favorable, early lesions. |
