The role of science and technology playing in the adjustment of specialty structure of higher education institutions

The adjustment of program structure is an important part of undergraduate education quality and teaching reform project. The adjustment is based on the development of science and technology. This article demonstrated that science and technology was the "engine" of the adjustment of program struc-ture from the perspective of higher education history, science and technology history. The directive signifi-cance of the characteristics of science and technology development for the adjustment of program structure of higher educational institutions was analyzed.
