| Abstract: | Entire lifespan of housefly including larva, pupa and adult stages arestudied according to their weight,water content, RNA and DNA. Themaximum weight is apparent in the larva period, dnd decreases withincreasing age and the Same is true as to the water content. The peakconcentration is observed at the time of fully mature in both sexes, withno significant sex difference (P>0.05), suggested that physiological agingis accompanied by neither significant decrease in Cell number nor mito-chondrion ?oss: RNA content and RNA/DNA ratio declines steadily withnincreasing age in both sexes, Suggesting that aging is accompanied by sig-ificant decrease in ability of the protein synthesis. |
