| Abstract: | Summary This article reviews the high incidence of colon cancer in Western countries; the contribution of cell biology and biochemistry to our knowledge of the behaviour of the disease is discussed. The use of a series of markers to obtain early evidence of metastasis and to make the prognosis is described. Some suggestions are made how to obtain improvements in the survival percentages. |
