The progress in application of minimally invasive extraction technology of mandibular impacted third molars

Extraction of mandibular impacted third molars, especially in the middle level or lower level, is complicated in alveolar surgery. The conventional extraction procedure could lead to many complications（ for example dry socket） ,and has some shortcoming, such as severe alveolar and temperemandibular trauma, long time in opera- tion, pain, etc. Minimal invasive tooth extraction opens a new era of extraction. This paper discusses the concept and skills of minimally invasive extraction technology, and its application in the extraction of mandibular impacted third molars in order to provide a reference for the further popularization of minimally invasive extraction technology.
