A PREPARATIVE METHOD FOR THE ISOLATION OF CARBOXYL TERMINAL TRYPTIC PEPTIDES FROM PROTEINS

A method has been developed for isolating glycinamide-blocked carboxyl-terminal tryptic peptides from proteins. It has been successfully applied to four proteins of known carboxyl-terminal sequence, yielding the carboxyl-terminal peptide in up to 68% yield. The separation method is designed to be selective for the desired peptide and to handle any quantity of protein.
